Description

This week we had the opportunity to sit down with three of the four founding members of Textured Waves Collective. Chelsea Woody, Danielle Black Lyons, and Martina Duran explain the mission of their organization which is to "propagate the culture and sport of women's surfing towards women of color and underrepresented demographics through representation, community, and sisterly camaraderie.". We chat about our love for surfing and the ways in which the surfing industry has changed to include more women in the lineup, yet still leaves many out. We further explore the importance of bringing the meditation of surfing to a more inclusive audience.
