The three amigos come together this week, to bring you the automotive news and interesting stories from around the globe. Starting with the extension of the US EV tax credit. The $7500 tax credit for US citizens to purchase EV and hybrid vehicles has been given new regulations such as, built in the USA and reliance on none Chinese batteries. Does the added regulations make it easier more difficult for Americans to go electric, what other global markets can supply batteries and what does the future road map of America look like, when all electrified.
Next, the guys discuss new laws that have been brought before congress and the house of representatives, in regards to self driving cars. The bipartisan support to update our aging traffic and safety laws, much of which has not been addressed since the 1970s. Lastly, what specific new technology are our elected leaders tackling and trying to regulate.
The fellas then look at photos and reports from the Bonneville salt flats Speed week. The festival had to be canceled due to heavy rain and flooding in the desert and the boys touch on what the changing world and its climate may have in store for motorsports of the future.
The guys jump over to the land of pasta and the prancing horse for a discussion on Ferrari's massive brake failure recall. Do things like brake failure and design failure of components in brake systems and suspension systems mean rough waters ahead for the sports car moniker? Does Ferrari suffer in any way from having these types of recalls? The fellas ask what does brand identity mean to a company like Ferrari.
