Description

Welcome back to The Nick Fong Podcast. Join Nick in this great conversation with Lorena Dromundo, a professional biker, who has competed nationally and internationally with impressive achievements in one of the most intense levels of biking: downhill.
This type of biking takes place on steep slopes where riders may descend from top speeds while negotiating tight turns, jumping over obstacles like rocks or logs, high-speed descents through forest, and, in some cases, very steep and narrow streets like those of the city of Taxco, in Guerrero. Downhill involves a lot of passion and, of course, is not accident-free.
Baja Sur is known for many types of sports, like surf and kitesurfing, but its landscape makes other great activities possible such as Mountain Biking and downhill. Lorena recently fell in love with Baja, so we talked about everything, from her beginnings in this sport as a child, how she made her way as the only woman practicing downhill in Mexico, and of course her future plans in Baja with her academy.
