The film stars Mark Rylance, Sally Hawkins and Rhys Ifans.It’s based on a true story about Maurice Flitcroft, a dreamer and unrelenting optimist, who managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship. Qualifying in 1976, Maurice subsequently shot the worst round in Open history, becoming a folk hero in the process.In this episode, we chat about adapting a biographical script and bouncing back from failure, both in the personal and professional realms.The Phantom Of The Open is currently available to watch in UK cinemas.Next week we are throwing it back to the early noughties and are having a look at Save The Last Dance (2001).
