In this episode, Ted Stryker welcomes the creative force that is known as Mod Sun to the Tuna on Toast Podcast Studio (aka Stryker's second bedroom)
As Stryker says at the top, Mod Sun is a talented and prolific writer, performer, producer, musician, director and singer. The episode begins with Mod telling Stryker that they actually met 10 years ago when Mod was working with Cisco Adler out in Malibu! Mod Sun talks to Stryker about why he left his previous band many years ago which he was the drummer in...The band was called Four Letter Lie. They were a really good band! That was the time he became who we know as Mod Sun.
Stryker asks Mod Sun about his childhood growing up on a farm in Minnesota, raised by his Mom and sister. Mod mentions his Dad as being totally wild but someone who was also full of charisma.
The guys talk about Mod's documentary titled "Remember Me Just Like This" as well as the fact that Mod has been invested in the type of music he is making today and the scene, since he was 13 years old! Mod tells Stryker that it wasn't until working with John Feldman that he felt a feeling of "redemption". John was the first to tell Mod that he was good , that he was special, that he was full of talent!
Stryker and Mod Sun talk about his brand new song called "Rich Kids Ruin Everything", Mod worked with John Feldman once again and the artist Lil Aaron contributed as well. T
he guys discuss bands like Something Corporate and the song "If You See Jordan" and New Found Glory which leads to Mod telling Stryker about his first time meeting Travis Barker.
Mod Sun talks about going to a very early Fall Out Boy concert, Mod Sun was the only person in the front row area that knew the words to "Where is Your Boy Tonight". Mod tells Stryker about the time he snuck backstage and gave Pete Wentz an Ipod mini with Mod Sun's musical project called I'll Buy Myself, it was 10 songs!
The guys talked about Mod producing the new Avril Lavigne album titled Love Sux. Stryker also asks if Machine Gun Kelly bought Mod a new car after he kicked in his windshield!
Mod Sun is an awesome dude that is filled with talent and charisma, it was such a pleasure to have him on, thank you again for watching and listening to Tuna on Toast with Stryker.
