During this episode they discuss Nathan's experiences growing up in Kansas City, how his older sister influenced his taste in music by introducing him to The Smiths and The Cure, Nathan’s uncle’s passion for building steel guitars, getting into punk through hanging out with skaters, Nathan’s first band Matilda, discovering new music through zines and album liner notes, starting The Casket Lottery in 1999, working with producer Ed Rose, recording and touring, the time Jeremy saw The Casket Lottery perform with Rocky Votolato, forming a close relationship with Small Brown Bike, how over-preparation has helped Nathan succeed as an artist, being invited to record at the BBC while on tour in Europe with Coalesce, and the two wrap up with a super-fan Coen Brothers talk for fun.
