Description

Number one seed, baby!
The Philadelphia Flyers swept the Eastern Conference round robin tournament, taking down the Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals, and Tampa Bay Lightning to earn the top seed in the east.
Carter Hart and the Flyers gave up one goal on 24 shots to Tampa- a team that averaged three-and-a-half goals and 31 shots per game in the regular season.
Philly's depth has been tremendous, as has been the team defense and goaltending.
Joel Farabee, subbing on the top line for a scratched Jake Voracek, contributed a goal on a silky setup from Shayne Gostisbehere, after earlier picking up an assist, but really it was the bottom-six, and specifically Nicolas Aube-Kubel, who earned the spotlight on Saturday night. NAK netted a pair of goals, the first multi-goal game of his career, in the first period to give Philadelphia their first lead on Tampa in forever.
From there, it was all about smart hockey, team defense, and steady goaltending- tradmarks of the 2019-20 (yup, 2019 was really part of this season, despite it being about a decade-and-a-half ago) Flyers.
Ghost and Couts each picked up a couple of assists, and Scott Laughton continued his points streak by assisting Tyler Pitlick's empty net goal with 1:20 left on the clock to clinch the East's top spot.
It certainly was all fun and games on the BSH Radio postgame show and I bet if you listen to it your day will be better.
