Description

Katie Krimitsos is the Founder of Biz Women Rock, a community and education provider for business women around the globe who want to grow their companies. Her podcast Biz Women Rock provides personal business interviews, pertinent topics, and actionable information that help her community thrive in their businesses. And her online courses help women in all aspects of building a successful company. Simultaneously, Katie and her husband Chris run a local entrepreneurs organization called the Tampa Bay Business Owners, a peer community that offers education and collaboration to its members. She and Chris also put on the international podcasting conference, Podfest, and founded the Florida Podcasters Association (they kinda like podcasting!) She is a lover of travel, animals (she has two pet parrots!), the water, and is amazingly in love with her very first child, Sedona. In this episode, Katie and Stacy discuss what it takes to be both a mom and entrepreneur and be successful in both. Some highlights include: “I just fell in love with entrepreneurs.” At minute 4:00, Katie talks about how her experience with Tampa Bay Business Owners kicked off her interest in becoming an entrepreneur and how and why she decided to start Biz Women Rock based on that experience. You have to be willing to adjust. At minute 7:00, Katie talks about making plans but being willing to evolve from them. You absolutely need someone looking in on your business. At minute 13:00, Katie talks about why, if you want to achieve something, you need someone there holding you accountable. “It is a big fallacy!” At minute 22:00, Katie talks about why she doesn’t believe in work-life balance but does believe in work-life management. “I really love — LOVE — that I have the freedom to do what I want, when I want.” At minute 28:00, Katie talks about what she loves about being an entrepreneur.
