Sophie Zhang was fired from Facebook in 2020, and her farewell memo was leaked to Buzzfeed, went viral on Reddit, and revealed (in her words) “multiple blatant attempts by foreign national governments to abuse our platform on vast scales to mislead their own citizenry, and caused international news on multiple occasions". This is just the tip of the iceberg.
