Description
“Luxury is being able to say I have this designer bag that is made with a new revolutionary material and I want to show the world that I’m living my values.”
Sophia Wang met her Co-Founder Phil Ross while she was completing her Ph.D in Writing. While the two were in San Francisco and collaborated on different projects, Sophia encountered the mind-blowing capabilities of mycelium, the inter-woven fibers that form the root system of what we are more familiar with - mushrooms. Today, Mycoworks is creating Fine Mycelium™ fabric that is biodegradable and can be used in luxury fashion. Their first material, Reishi™ Fine Mycelium, will be featured in a collaboration with Hermés.
