Description
Caller Question: "Does society manufacture Lust addicts through shame? i'm seeing more in myself and my fellows in SAL how damaging shame is to recovery. this mentality of "I'm a sexaholic, an addict" whilst i personally feel necessary in the start of recovery, is causing a lot of shame-train and relapse. I see shame still being this huge driving force that is impeding my growth. i'd love to discuss with you guys your thoughts on if Lust actually is the problem, or if it's this pressure that we have put on ourselves due to our morals, shame on not living them, and if there's a self-fulfilling cycle out there that society at large provides me that fuels this train. it makes me curious if there's a better method than the "I'm a sexaholic" deal" We'd love to have you as a guest. You can submit your question and have a real and honest conversation with 2 experienced therapists on realtalkrecovery.com.
