Description

Lauren Aronson is a health policy expert with an insider’s understanding of how to navigate the political landscape in order to get things done in Washington. She joined Mehlman Castagnetti in May 2015 after serving in senior positions in both the Executive Branch and the United States Congress. Most recently, Lauren directed the Office of Legislation at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) where she led the agency’s interactions with Capitol Hill. In this role, Lauren developed and executed legislative strategy for conveying CMS policy positions to Congress.  Before joining CMS, Lauren served as a Professional Staff Member for the Committee on Ways and Means in the U.S. House of Representatives. Lauren also served in the Obama White House as the Policy Director in the Office of Health Reform, in which capacity she played an instrumental role in helping the Administration’s team enact the landmark ACA, President Obama’s signature health care law. Lauren worked with Congressional staff on the President’s health policy priorities, briefed senior Administration officials and represented the White House at meetings with key stakeholders. Earlier in her career, Lauren was Health Policy Advisor to then-Representative Rahm Emanuel (D-IL), a member of the House Democratic Leadership and Committee on Ways and Means.  She also worked as a Policy Analyst with Christopher Jennings at Jennings Policy Strategies.  Follow The Political Life on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter for weekly updates.
