Description
In this week’s episode our team is taking a look at the 2008 period epic Australia starring Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman and every other Australian actor not named Hemsworth. The film was beautiful and told an intriguing story and in every way it looked like a for sure Oscar best picture nominee- but it didn’t get nominated. Why? Our team will discuss. The story in this film could have come straight out of the old west and would make a great western. There probably is a western out there that tells this story. But this film also highlights how beautiful this continent is, and introduces a broader audience to a history and culture of the island. Before this, most people were familiar with Australia through Crocodile Dundee or the Crocodile Hunter. This gave us more of a back story and a history. What did you think of this film? Let us know by sending your feedback to podcast@moviesthatmakeus.com We would also love to hear any suggestions you might have for the show. We want you to be a part of it. Next week, we have a very special episode. It is episode 1 of our 2 episode Star Wars special. It has been recorded, and it was a lot of fun. We hope you will be right back here next Monday for this epic episode. Thank you for listening, and we won’t see you at the movies. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
