Description

What's going down Bookshelvers? We hope to find you well in this bizarre time we are all stuck in. What can we say about this episode? Firstly Jessica Pierce is such a wonderful person and we loved the time we spent talking to her about her two amazing books. We genuinely think that "The Last Walk" is a masterpiece and something that everyone, when ready, should read and "Run, Spot, Run" is a real eye opener. Secondly there are some deep and potentially upsetting topics covered. It's not easy talking about the inevitable day our Pets leave us but it is important. We (of course) try to keep it as light hearted as possible but we are sure you understand that some of the anecdotes and topics can cut deeply :) Enough waffle from us.... Please do let us know what you think. Jessica Pierce is a bioethicist and faculty affiliate at the Center for Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She is the author of eleven books, including The Last Walk: Reflections on Our Pets at the Ends of Their Lives and Run, Spot, Run: The Ethics of Keeping Pets, and has published essays in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the Guardian. She is a regular contributor to Psychology Today (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/all-dogs-go-heaven). Her website is http://jessicapierce.net.
