Description
In this episode, Jill and Victor join Ben Wickler, Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, for a conversation about the importance of key swing states like Wisconsin, how Democrats can win in Wisconsin against the aggressive push by Republicans to also win the state, the experience of campaigning effectively in a pandemic, and what Trump's recent visit and messaging in Kenosha, Wisconsin means for the political strategy of Wisconsin Democrats as November 3rd approaches.
Aside from being the Chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Ben is a Wisconsin native, previously serving as Senior Advisor and Washington Director of MoveOn.org, where he led MoveOn's campaign to prevent the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and gutting of Medicaid. Ben also hosted the award-winning podcast The Good Fight; served as second in command of the world's two largest online campaigning organizations, Change.org (2011-12) and Avaaz (2007-11); and, in high school and college, wrote headlines and articles for The Onion and launched the Student Global AIDS Campaign.
