Asking your leader for flexibility:

Let them know what you're looking for

Let them know why you're looking for it

Assure them your quality / quantity of work will not decrease

Assure them your work is high priority

Offer to set up check-ins each week

Let them know how it will help and the benefits

Lay out the structure you're set up so they know you'll be successful
