Description
My guest today is the wonderful Emily Weiss, founder of Glossier, who, after cultivating a passionate community on her website Into The Gloss, saw an opportunity to create a new beauty experience that celebrates and speaks to the customer directly. Founded in 2014, Glossier is a digital-first beauty company with a mission to give voice through beauty. Glossier has a "skin first, makeup second" philosophy, Glossier creates modern essentials (skincare, makeup fragrance, body) that intuitive, easy-to-use, and don't hide or cover you up. Since launching, Glossier has introduced 36 products, opened two permanent stores (NY and LA), brought temporary retail to over 6 cities, raised $186 million in venture capital funding, and has welcomed 3 million customers the Glossier community. I recently popped into the NYC flagship store which averages 50K visitors per month and it was buzzing. They have also this year brought temporary retail to Miami, Seattle, Boston, and Austin. Most recently, they've opened Glossier London, on 13 Floral Street in Covent Garden - definitely go and check it out and top on your Boy Brow and Milk Jelly Cleanser! It was a really highlight having Emily on the podcast, hope you enjoy this conversation and her insights!
