Description
The Context of White Supremacy hosts the premier study session on the 2017 autobiography of the late Coretta Scott King: My Life, My Love, My Legacy. Mrs. King, who died in January of 2006, told her story to renowned journalist, Rev. Dr. Barbara Reynolds. The New Orleans Tribune praised the new book, describing it as a fitting read for the current climate of flagrant hostility and "emboldened" White Supremacy. The book archives Mrs. King determined effort to create a federal holiday in honor of her late husband, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We'll learn details about her experience as a black mother, caring for children without the help of her slain husband. The book also documents her labor to establish the King Center - a museum which honors the life work of Dr. King. We'll compare this text to some of the other biographies we've covered on the book club - Maya Angelou, Assata Shakur, Malcolm X. #AnswersForMiriamCarey INVEST in The COWS - http://paypal.me/GusTRenegade CALL IN NUMBER: 641.715.3640 CODE 564943#
