The Context of White Supremacy welcomes the return of Dr. Marvin Dunn. A Florida historian of the first order, Dr. Dunn has authored numerous texts including The Beast in Florida: A History of Anti-Black Violence and A History of Florida: Through Black Eyes. The ensuing midterm elections have been especially charged given the recent eruption of White Terrorism. The Pittsburgh synagogue shooting displaced attention from accused mail bombed Cesar Sayoc. This Suspected Race Solider allegedly mailed pipe bombs to a number of black people and prominent Democratic officials. Sayoc was allegedly "obsessed" with Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum and used social media to rage about the black politician. We'll ask Dr. Dunn to contextualize the this month's sequence of White violence. It's been said often that there's been an increase in flagrantly racist commentary.
