About this ebook
“You shouldn’t be here, you're the Alpha King and Liam's uncle.” I managed to say, trying to resist his touch.
He chuckled deeply, “You forgot one more thing” he said simply, brushing his thumb over my lower lips.
“What is that?” I whispered almost inaudibly.
“I'm also your mate.” He murmured, leaning towards me.
“What do you want from me?” I asked, feeling so confused.
“Isn't it obvious?” He asked with a smirk,
“I want you.”

Aria is heartbroken, when her fated mate, the Alpha's son, betrays and brutally rejects her.
Seeking for temporary comfort, she finds herself in the arms of a mysterious stranger who offers her the comfort she desperately craves that night, under the influence of a s*xual stimulant and she flees the next morning.
To her shock, she discovers her passionate night was spent with her ex-mate's uncle, the Alpha King, Alpha Knox Blackwood, who is also her second chance mate.
Knox however is not willing to let her go. He has had a taste, and wants her for himself.
Knox offers her a second chance — an opportunity to leave her past as an omega behind, and she quickly accepts.
However, there are so many people not happy about this, and Knox has a dark secret.
What happens when their dark pasts rise up to haunt them?

Chapter 151
Knox's POV
Fuck yes!
Hazel exclaimed, pumping her fists in the air.
Shawn and Hunter perked up instantly, but I continued pacing my office.
I didn't want to get my hopes up, but it was hard not to, with the way she had exclaimed.
Please tell me that was a shout of triumph…
Shawn said, echoing what was in all our minds.
Hazel smirked. Fuck yeah. I have finally succeeded in doing the impossible! I have tracked her.
My eyes widened, and I immediately stopped pacing.
Where is she?
I asked, rushing over to the map she had been working on.
I froze as I stared at the map before me.
Shawn gasped from over my shoulder. I can't believe this.
Neither could I, because the map was glowing faintly, and in the center, there was a small white dot, and it was surrounded by dark red lines.
It was blurry, but it gave me hope that we could find her.
So this is where she is?
I asked Hazel, needing to hear it again.
Oh yeah,
she nodded. Do you see these nasty-ass red lines on the map?
She asked, pointing at the red lines surrounding the white spot.
I nodded, listening intently.
That’s some dark shit. They're dark spells that were used to block tracking spells. Red means that you’re dealing with an enemy that has a lot of dark witches at his disposal.
Hazel slapped the table in realization. That’s why we couldn’t fucking track her normally, it had to be through something that witches cannot easily tamper with—the mate link.
She explained.
I wasn’t fully paying attention to whatever she was saying, but I nodded along, silently willing her to hurry.
After a minute, she tapped the map twice, and everything became clearer. I could see the exact location.
It was deep within the eastern mountain region, far from any roads or borders. It was an unexpected place for vampires to stay, because the temperature there was too hot.
Vampires could tolerate the sun, but it was uncomfortable for them when it got too hot—it was the perfect place for them to hide.
So this is where they’re hiding…
Hunter muttered under his breath, Bloody bastards.
Fenrir was already restless in my head. ‘Time to go and get our mate. Time to tear the bloodsuckers to pieces.’
I growled lowly, clenching my fists tightly. Just give me a minute, Fenrir.
Shawn, gather the pack warriors. It’s time to get back the Luna Queen,
I ordered.
He nodded sharply and left the office.
I turned to Hazel. Are you coming along?
She shook her head quickly. Oh no, no no. I don’t…I’m not…I can’t help you with that. I’m sorry.
Hunter furrowed his eyebrows at her for a brief second, before he glanced away.
I nodded. Even though I wanted to have as much help as possible, I wasn’t going to force her to fight against her will.
I opened my mouth to give Hunter instructions when my phone rang.
I frowned. Whoever it was would have to wait. I was going to save my mate. Everything else could wait.
Fenrir growled. All he wanted to do was take control. I gritted my teeth, pushing him back again.
Hold on.
He was very displeased, he didn’t want to wait. He growled furiously.
My phone kept ringing. Whoever it was, didn’t understand that I wasn’t in the mood.
I grabbed the phone from my desk. What!
I barked, gripping the phone tightly.
There was silence for a moment, and I growled. I don’t know who you are, but I will make you pay if you waste my time.
Knox…
a soft voice called.
My heart skipped a beat. My breath caught as if someone had punched me in the chest.
Aria?
I murmured with disbelief in my voice.
My hand went slack in shock, and the phone slipped out of my hand.
It couldn’t be. It was impossible—there was no way that I had just heard Aria’s voice.
Alpha?
Hunter sounded confused, probably because of the look of shock and disbelief on my face.
Fortunately, I hadn’t damaged the phone by letting it drop to the floor, so I scrambled to pick it up, my fingers trembling.
It couldn’t be. There was no way I had just heard Aria’s voice.
Knox, can you hear me?
Her voice came through the phone.
Aria?
I murmured with disbelief in my voice.
Oh, Knox
Her voice broke, It’s so good to hear your voice, Knox.
I clenched the phone tighter, my breath catching in my throat. Aria… where are you? Are you safe? Talk to me, baby.
Her voice wavered, but there was something calm about it. That was odd. Why did she sound calm?
I’m safe, Knox. I promise. I’m not hurt… I just wanted you to know that I’m okay so that you won't worry about me.
She replied.
I froze. What do you mean? Where the hell are you?
There was a pause. I… don't know. But I’m being taken care of. I’ll be back in two days.
Fenrir growled, and I scowled.
Two days? What the hell? Aria, no. I’m coming to get you now. We know where you are—
No,
she interrupted gently, her tone was soft but firm. You don’t need to come. I’m fine. Please… just trust me. I’ll be home soon.
I gritted my teeth, and the phone bent slightly from the grip I had on it. Aria, who has you?
There was another pause. Then she mumbled, Viktor.
That name sent a wave of fury, shame and pain through me. Fenrir growled fiercely in my mind, and my grip on the phone tightened until it almost cracked.
Viktor?
I growled, my voice dropping to something dangerous. That bloodsucking bastard has you?
He hasn’t hurt me,
she said quickly. He’s… actually been kind to me, Knox.
My stomach turned. I didn’t give a damn how kind
he was. He was a vampire. He stole her from me.
I killed his mate, so I couldn't trust him with mine. Never.
I don’t give a damn if he gave you a palace and served you dinner on gold,
I spat. I don't trust him with you, and you know why.
I know you’re angry,
she said, trying to calm me. But please… just wait for me. Two days. That’s all I ask.
Fenrir fought in my head. He was screaming to go now, to kill, to take, to rip apart. I could barely think as the rage built up within me.
Chapter 152
Knox’s POV
I clenched my fist and jaw tightly as I pushed Fenrir back, while taking care not to squash the phone in my hand to pieces.
Knox? Are you there?
she asked softly through the phone. I closed my eyes tightly, focusing on the sound of her voice to calm myself.
Can you hear me?
I opened my eyes slowly, after successfully taking control. Aria, I—
My voice cracked. You don’t understand what it’s been like. Not knowing if you were alive. Not knowing if they were—
I stopped as my throat tightened.
I can’t pretend to understand, Knox,
she said softly. But I’m asking you to trust me. I wouldn’t say this if I didn’t mean it. I’m okay. And I’ll be with you soon.
I shut my eyes, forcing a shaky breath. Why? Why do you want an extra two days? Are you getting comfortable with the bloodsuckers?
I murmured angrily.
Aria sighed, staying silent for a moment before she replied. I…I think there’s something I need to do here before I leave.
I furrowed my eyebrows in disbelief. What the hell are you talking about, Aria? You’re not making any sense.
I said incredulously.
She sighed again. I know, Knox. I know. But please, just trust me and wait for me. Just for two days.
I ran a hand over my face, releasing a frustrated groan. The idea of her staying longer with Viktor or any bloodsucker made my skin crawl. A-Aria, I—
Please Knox,
she pleaded.
From the tone of her voice, she truly believed that whatever she was doing there was worth spending extra two days with bloodsuckers.
I didn't agree with it, but I couldn’t bear to argue with her anymore.
Fine.
I grumbled bitterly. Two days, and that’s it.
I said firmly.
Yes, thank you, thank you very much, my love.
She replied softly.
My heart warmed, and Fenrir whimpered quietly in my head, calming at the sound of her voice.
How is the baby?
I asked.
Her voice brightened. The baby is very strong and healthy. I can feel the baby kicking, Knox.
I pressed the phone tighter to my ear. My heart ached from relief and longing. I was relieved that they were both okay, but I longed to hold them in my arms.
The baby is more active whenever I talk about you.
She said.
A lump formed in my throat. What do you talk about?
That their father is strong and fierce. He’s the most powerful Alpha in the realm,
she murmured. But I also say that he’s kind. That he’ll always protect us because he really loves us.
My eyes burned, and Fenrir released a low whimper. We both missed her so much.
I love you so much,
I said finally, my voice rough. The both of you. Tell our baby that.
She was quiet for a moment. I will, Knox. We love you too.
A long, heavy silence settled between us.
You better come back to me, Aria,
I said hoarsely. Because if you don’t… I will burn down the world to find you, and you know that.
I’ll come back,
she promised. I swear it.
After the call disconnected, I growled, tossing the phone on the table.
Several emotions raced through me. What the hell was going on?
Shawn peeked back into the room. Alpha? The warriors are ready.
I stared down at the phone, clenching my jaw.
Mobilize them,
I muttered.
Hunter, who had heard my conversation with Aria, stared at me in shock.
What?
he asked, blinking.
I looked up, my eyes blazed with fury. She said she would be back in two days. But I would be damned if I sit on my ass doing nothing while I waited for her. I am going to get my mate. I don’t know what game that Viktor is playing now, and I am not waiting around to find out.
Hunter looked like he wanted to argue, but one look from me shut him up.
I turned to Hazel, who stood watching us with a bored expression on her face and her arms crossed.
Get me the exact location,
I ordered sharply. I want as much detail as I can get on where Viktor’s keeping her.
She gave a short nod and turned back to the map, murmuring incantations under her breath.
I turned back to Hunter. You’re in charge until I return with the Luna.
Alpha—
he started, but my glare cut him off.
I don’t have the patience for any questions. If anything goes wrong while I’m gone, protect the pack and the border.
Hunter clenched his jaw, his eyes twitched but he gave a reluctant nod, not daring to disobey my instructions.
I turned to Shawn. You’re coming with me.
He straightened with a stoic look on his face. Yes Alpha.
Prepare the stealth strategy,
I added. We’re not charging in like a bunch of unorganized rogues. Nothing should go wrong, no single mistake is permitted.
Shawn nodded and left immediately to gather everything.
I continued pacing the office, waiting for Hazel to finish with the map, and waiting for Shawn to come back for the planning session.
My blood boiled hotter with rage. Fenrir growled low in my mind.
‘She’s ours. We take her back. Now.’
I know,
I muttered under my breath. We’re going to do that.
I glanced at the phone screen as a slight twinge of guilt flickered through me. I had made Aria believe that I was going to wait patiently for her to come back to me.
But I didn’t trust Viktor, so there was no way I was going to just sit still.
Hazel finally stepped away from the map, her expression was serious. I’m done.
At that moment, Shawn returned with weapons strapped to his side. Everything’s ready.
he announced.
Let’s move,
I said.
Fenrir snarled with approval in my head.
Chapter 153
Aria’s POV
I stared at the phone in my hand, biting the insides of my mouth in worry.
Do you think Knox will listen, and stay back to wait for me to come back?
I asked Jade, staring down at the phone.
Jade snorted. Even Rhea released a small sound of disbelief. ‘Knox? That won’t even be possible, and you know it.’
I winced slightly. That was true. I knew that Knox wouldn’t listen to me and agree to wait patiently for two days.
Jade continued. ‘That call was just to let him know that you’re fine, and you’re not being tortured anymore, for now. But to tell him to wait for you, hell no! You know how much Knox hates that you're out of his sight.’
I don't want any more deaths. That's why I don't want him to come. Both sides will lose people, no matter who wins.
I sighed.
Someone knocked on the door. I walked to the door with the phone in my hands. It was probably Viktor.
I began to wonder if I should tell him that there was a possibility that Knox would still come himself, especially as he claimed to know where I was.
Jade disagreed. ‘No. Knox never said he was coming. We just assumed based on how we know him. Besides, he might not really know where you are.’
I nodded slowly, So there's no use raising a false alarm until I'm very sure.
‘Exactly,’ Jade said firmly.
I opened the door slowly, doing my best to make sure that Viktor wouldn't suspect that something was wrong.
However, it wasn't Viktor by the door. It was Kale and Raven.
A small smile crossed my lips. I hadn't seen them since that day when Viktor bit me.
Raven sneered at me. Oh look, who's still alive. A shame.
She drawled.
Kale ignored her, giving me a small smile. Hello, it's good to see you strong. The last time I saw you, I feared it would be the last, but I am glad that you're better now.
He said softly.
My heart softened at his words. Thank you, Kale.
Raven scoffed in disgust, rolling her eyes with intense annoyance. Lord Viktor asked us to show you around.
I lifted an eyebrow in surprise, Really?
She sneered at me in response.
Kale nodded. Yes, he said that he didn't want you to feel cooped up in this room. He'll join us later and take over the tour,
he informed me.
I hesitated for a moment, glancing back into the room. I didn't want to leave with them. I didn't feel safe walking through the halls of the place where vampires lived.
I glanced at Raven subtly. If anything happened, I was very sure she would let me die. The only protection I had was Kale.
‘You need to go with them, Aria.’ Jade said reluctantly. ‘Remember that we have a mission here.’
I wanted to ask her how walking around in a dangerous place like this was going to help us, but I slowly stepped out, shutting the door behind me, clenching the phone tightly in my hand.
Rhea rose up slightly within me, giving me heightened senses. I thanked her silently.
‘Be careful,’ she whispered.
We began walking through the long hallway of the vampires’ mansion. I could feel eyes following me, and I tried not to shiver.
I had never seen other vampires except Kale, Raven and Viktor, even though I knew there were a lot of them in the place.
Kale walked beside me, tall and graceful. His presence was calm and fluid, like water, but Raven’s presence was the opposite—like fire.
She stayed behind us, and I could feel her eyes on me, watching me like a predator watching a prey it wasn't allowed to eat yet.
I hid a shudder.
So,
I said cautiously, Where are the other vampires? I have never seen them.
Kale gave a faint smile. They’re still cautious about a wolf in their midst, especially as we've been at war with them for a very long time, so they're a bit hesitant to introduce themselves.
He means that they hate you, and want to kill you,
Raven said flatly.
Kale shot her a warning glance, but she just gave him an unrepentant smirk.
We passed a familiar corridor. I could see the staircase leading downwards. I could remember this like it was yesterday.
It was the path I had followed when I was trying to escape, and it had led me to a furious Viktor.
Goosebumps erupted through my body, and a chill ran down my spine as I remembered what had happened that day. Yet, there was something there that—
Aria, not that way,
Kale said, steering me away from that area. I hadn't even realized that I had been walking towards it. That leads to the lower levels. There’s nothing for you there.
I could hear a certain tightness in his voice, and I could see an unreadable expression on Raven's face.
‘We might find answers down there,’ Jade muttered.
I tried to keep my face neutral as though I was oblivious to what was going on. So, where exactly are we going now?
We’re going to the garden now,
Kale replied. Lord Viktor said you might need the fresh air.
I blinked. A garden? That was the last thing I expected in a place like this.
I didn’t think vampires would have something like that. I thought you didn't like the outdoors,
I said quietly.
Kale chuckled. We enjoy beauty in our own ways. We just don’t enjoy the sun. It's not comfortable.
Raven snorted behind me, but she didn't say anything. I knew she was mocking me. I clenched my jaw slightly.
Why are you even here, Raven?
I asked finally, unable to help myself. You obviously hate me. So why are you here?
Raven laughed coldly. I'm here to watch your every step. I'm waiting for you to take the wrong step so that I can put you down like the dog you are.
I stiffened.
Chapter 154
Aria's POV
Enough,
Kale said gently. We’re not here to fight.
Raven glared at me, but she fell silent, walking ahead of us now.
As we reached the large doors to the garden, Kale opened the door. My breath caught in my throat, and my eyes widened in awe.
Woah,
I whispered, gazing around in amazement.
The garden was breathtaking. The flowers had bright colors, and they had sweet scents.
The garden was quiet and cool in the evening, and a gentle breeze moved the leaves on the trees. The walls around the garden were covered
