Rise and Reclaim Your Star - Lila Rosewood
Introduction – You Have a Star
From the moment you entered this world, God placed within you a divine assignment, a unique purpose crafted before time began. This purpose, often symbolized in Scripture as a star,
is a reflection of your identity, your calling, and the light you were created to shine into the world. —the fulfillment of God’s plan for your life, the gifts you carry, the impact you’re meant to make, and the legacy you are destined to leave behind.
Unfortunately, not everyone walks in the fullness of that divine purpose. Many people live beneath their potential, not because they lack talent, intelligence, or opportunities, but because something was taken from them in the unseen realm. They feel stuck, confused, burdened, or constantly blocked, no matter how hard they try. Others carry a sense of being lost, as if something precious has been missing their entire lives. These are not mere feelings—they are often spiritual signs that something deeper has happened. Their star has been dimmed, covered, exchanged, or in some cases, outright stolen.
The Bible speaks of this kind of theft, though it uses symbolic language. In Joel 2:25, we read about wise men who followed a star—a heavenly sign that pointed to the birth of Jesus. But King Herod, upon hearing this, secretly sought to destroy the child by deceit. This was more than just a political move; it was a picture of a spiritual reality. Just as Herod tried to eliminate a destiny before it matured, there are forces—both physical and spiritual—that seek to hijack, bury, or destroy divine destinies. These forces are what we will refer to throughout this book as destiny thieves or star hunters.
Some destinies are stolen through direct spiritual attacks—witchcraft, curses, evil covenants, and demonic manipulation. Others are taken through ungodly soul ties, sexual sin, or emotional trauma. In some tragic cases, parents unknowingly hand over their children’s destinies through demonic exchanges or covenants made in desperation. Still others lose their stars through their own choices—laziness, pride, disobedience, or fear. And then there are people who fall victim to false prophets, occultic pastors, and diviners who appear spiritual but are actually agents of darkness. These individuals operate with demonic insight and can detect the brightness of your star. Through deceit and manipulation—especially through laying on of hands or spiritual readings
—they attempt to hijack what rightfully belongs to you.
This book is not just about identifying the problem—it is a roadmap to recovery. You may feel like your life has taken a wrong turn, like you're trapped in a cycle of setbacks, or that something invisible is holding you back. Perhaps you've made mistakes, or perhaps someone else made decisions that affected your life in ways you couldn't control. Either way, the truth is this: God has not forgotten your star. It may be hidden, delayed, or tampered with—but it is never beyond redemption.
We serve a God of restoration. In Joel 2:25, He promises: I will restore to you the years that the locust has eaten.
This is not a poetic promise—it is a reality for those who seek Him with understanding and obedience. Throughout this book, we will explore both the spiritual and practical aspects of reclaiming your stolen star. You will learn how to discern the signs that your star has been tampered with, how to pray and war effectively, and how to rebuild your life with clarity, purpose, and renewed strength.
This journey will not be surface-level. It will confront hard truths, challenge long-held beliefs, and expose hidden spiritual realities. But it will also offer hope, healing, and empowerment. You will find prayers—real, scriptural decrees that you can speak over your life daily. These are not just words; they are weapons, and when used with faith, they activate divine power. You will also find practical wisdom for breaking bad habits, closing spiritual doors, and developing the kind of character that protects and nurtures your God-given destiny.
Whether you are a believer who feels like something has gone terribly wrong, or someone who simply wants to understand more about how to walk in the fullness of God’s calling, this book is for you. You don’t need to be a Bible scholar. You just need to be hungry for truth and ready to walk in the light again.
You were born to shine. And no matter what has happened, your star can rise again.
Chapter 1: What Is a Star?
From Genesis to Revelation , the Bible uses stars as symbols of divine glory, destiny, and identity. A star is not just a beautiful celestial body—it represents influence, light, and purpose. When we speak of a person’s star,
we are referring to the light God placed within them to fulfill His plan on earth. Your star is your God-ordained destiny, your spiritual blueprint. It is the reason you were born, the assignment you carry, and the unique expression of God’s glory through your life.
This concept isn’t folklore. It’s deeply spiritual and rooted in Scripture. In Genesis 15:5, God told Abraham, Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them... So shall your offspring be.
God wasn’t just promising quantity—He was speaking of quality. Each of Abraham’s descendants, both physical and spiritual, would carry a divine destiny—a star of purpose.
Similarly, in Daniel 12:3, it says: Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
Here, stars are used to represent people with eternal significance. This suggests that within every person lies a light meant to shine for God’s glory and to influence others positively.
Your Star Is Your Divine Assignment
A star, spiritually, is not something you create for yourself. You are not the originator of your destiny—God is. According to Jeremiah 1:5, God told the prophet, Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.
This means that God doesn’t invent your purpose halfway through your life—it was written before your birth. Your star was assigned from heaven.
Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, a respected voice in African Pentecostal circles, once taught that each person carries a divine assignment
that the enemy tries to abort before it matures. He explains that Satan doesn’t fight who you are today—he fights what you are becoming. That’s why spiritual battle often increases just before major breakthroughs. When your star begins to rise—when you are stepping into alignment with God’s purpose—opposition comes, trying to snuff out your light.
Stars Speak of Visibility and Impact
Stars in the physical sky do not compete. Each shines in its own orbit and season. Likewise, your God-given destiny is unique. 1 Corinthians 15:41 says: The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another, and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.
This means we are not meant to compare ourselves to others or envy their calling. Your star is different, and that difference is divine. Your impact may not look like someone else’s—but it is no less significant.
Sadly, because many do not understand this, they either pursue what was never theirs to begin with or abandon their destiny out of insecurity or spiritual ignorance. That is how many lose their star—not by direct attack at first, but through misalignment, ignorance, or apathy.
Satan Targets Stars Early
In Matthew 2:1–12, the wise men followed the star of Jesus, which led them to the newborn King. But Herod, upon hearing this news, sought to kill the
