    Preface

The journey towards Moksha or spiritual liberation, has fascinated humanity for millennia. Across cultures and religions, it is a goal that promises ultimate peace, freedom and self-realization. Yet, the path to Moksha is rarely simple. It requires deep introspection, self-awareness and an understanding of the karmic forces that shape our lives. This book, Moksha, Karma and Jyotish, is an attempt to unravel the connection between karma, the soul’s journey and the ancient science of Jyotish (Vedic astrology).

In the modern world, many of us are caught in the cycle of desires, struggles and misunderstandings about life’s purpose. We often feel disconnected from the deeper truths about our existence, even as we search for meaning. We may experience success, wealth and relationships, yet something seems to be missing. The true purpose of life can only be discovered when we understand the intricacies of karma - how our actions, thoughts and decisions shape not just our present lives, but also our past life influences and future outcomes.

This book will take you on a journey of discovery - a journey that starts with one fundamental question: Who am I? To understand Moksha, we first need to understand the self, our past karmas and the karmic influences that have shaped us. From there, we will explore how karma operates in our lives, how it affects our soul’s evolution and how we can transcend the limitations of karma to achieve liberation.

The ancient wisdom of Vedic astrology (Jyotish) offers profound insights into our karmic blueprint. Jyotish serves as a map of our soul’s journey, showing us the influences of our past life karma and the challenges that lie ahead. Through Jyotish, we can understand our karmic patterns, discover the lessons we need to learn and find the guidance we need to align ourselves with our highest spiritual purpose.

In this book, we will break down the concept of Moksha in the context of karma and Jyotish, using simple and practical examples. You will learn how to interpret your natal chart, uncover your karmic lessons and understand how your current actions are creating the future you will experience. Whether you are a student of Jyotish, a seeker of spiritual wisdom or simply someone looking to make sense of life’s mysteries, this book offers a holistic approach to spiritual growth and self-realization.

The ideas presented here are rooted in ancient Vedic philosophy, but the concepts are deeply relevant to our modern lives. In a world where we often find ourselves overwhelmed by external expectations and internal conflicts, this book offers a pathway to clarity, self-awareness and ultimately, peace.

As you read this book, I invite you to engage with it on a personal level. Reflect on your own experiences, your own karmic patterns and consider how the wisdom of Moksha, Karma and Jyotish can guide you to a deeper understanding of yourself. It is not just a book to read, but a tool to reflect, discover and transform.

Moksha is not a distant goal to be achieved in the afterlife. It is a state of being, a way of living in alignment with our true self, transcending attachment and fear. It is the freedom from the karmic cycle and it starts here and now.

May this book serve as a stepping stone on your own spiritual journey, bringing you closer to the truth, the self and ultimately, the liberation that we are all destined to find.

    My Spiritual Journey

My spiritual journey began in 2010, a year that changed the course of my life forever. Before that, I had only heard about meditation in passing but never really understood its depth or purpose. That all changed when I attended my first Vipassana meditation course - a 10-day experience that opened my eyes to a world I never knew existed.

The shift was nothing short of profound. Suddenly, I found that fear, which had once held me captive, no longer had the same power over me. The aggression I had once carried, especially in my high-pressure sales and marketing career, melted away. I realized that in similar situations, where I would have once reacted aggressively to unmet targets or failure, my response was completely different. I was no longer the person who would lash out in frustration when targets weren’t met; I found myself responding with calmness and understanding. This was a revelation, not just to me but to my colleagues as well, who were taken aback by the change.

One of the most significant shifts was the disappearance of the fear of losing my job - a fear that had often kept me anxious and uncertain. But after Vipassana, I became more optimistic about the future. I understood, deeply, that things always fall into place as they should. I began to see life through a lens of trust, something I had never done before.

This newfound clarity and peace of mind led me to explore the concept of meditation further. It sparked an insatiable curiosity. I began reading books on Law of Attraction - particularly The Secret - and I started applying its principles in my daily life. Soon, I found myself preaching it to others, sharing my insights and seeing its impact unfold.

But this was just the beginning. As I continued my spiritual journey, I came across the works of Osho, J. Krishnamurti and S.N. Goenka. These three luminaries became the pillars of my spiritual exploration. Their teachings were nothing short of transformative and became a constant source of inspiration. Through their words, I learned that meditation was not just a practice but a way of living, seeing the world with clarity and understanding beyond the limitations of the ego.

Over the years, I became a dedicated practitioner of Vipassana and I hold this practice in the highest regard. It broke all the myths I had held about spirituality, offering a direct, experiential understanding of the scientific foundation behind it - everything is vibration and matter is simply energy in a different form. This insight resonated deeply within me, leading me to reflect further: Why am I so drawn to this path? Why do I feel an unexplainable pull toward spirituality while others remain indifferent?

The answer came through astrology. It was through understanding astrology - Parashari, Nadi and Bhrigu Nandi Nadi - that I began to understand why I was on this path, what drew me to it and how it fit into the grand scheme of my life’s purpose. I realized that astrology was not just about predicting the future but about self-discovery - understanding the deeper layers of who we are, why we do the things we do and how we can transform ourselves.

This curiosity led me to explore more occult modalities. I delved into palmistry and numerology, only to discover that these too were deeply intertwined with our karmic journey. With each practice, I felt as if I were peeling back layers of a vast, mysterious truth.

But even this wasn’t enough. As I explored further, I discovered graphology, the study of handwriting, which revealed even deeper insights into my intrinsic qualities. This was the missing piece. Through graphology, I understood how the subconscious mind shapes our actions, behavior and even our destiny.

Yet, my thirst for knowledge still wasn’t quenched. This led me to Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), where I began exploring the psychological aspect of transformation - how our thoughts and language shape our reality and how we can reprogram our minds to achieve profound change.

As I ventured into these different fields, something profound began to take shape. It wasn’t just about understanding the mechanics of the mind, the spirit or the body - it was about understanding the soul’s journey. This realization came when I discovered the ancient Vedic wisdom embedded in Hindu philosophies. Through the lens of Vedic teachings, I saw the ultimate purpose of life unfold in a way that transcended any single path or belief system. Moksha became not just a concept but a living, breathing pursuit of the soul’s ultimate goal - freedom from the cycle of karma and rebirth.

Astrology became my guide in understanding how karma manifests in our lives, shaping our birth, life experiences and the influences of the planets on our karmic journey. As I explored Hindu Darshan (philosophical systems), I uncovered various paths to reach the ultimate goal of Moksha, each path offering a unique way to dissolve the ego and liberate the soul.

The more I explored, the clearer it became that the answers to life’s deepest questions were not in external sources, but within. All this knowledge - be it astrology, meditation or psychological exploration - had one ultimate purpose: to help us know ourselves. Through self-discovery, we uncover the essence of our being and recognize that the journey to Moksha is not complex or distant, but simple, as it is rooted in the truth of who we truly are.

Over the course of this journey, I’ve completed more than 500+ courses and read over 1000+ books on topics ranging from psychology, astrology, philosophy, self-help and more. And what I’ve learned is this: The answers are not hidden away in complicated theories or distant realms. They are here, within us. The ultimate purpose of life is simple - know yourself and in that knowing, you will find the key to everything.

Definition of Moksha: A Layman's Perspective

As an avid Bollywood fan, I’ve always found comfort in the lyrics of songs, especially the classics. The music, the words - they seem to carry a profound connection to life itself. From old retro hits to ghazals and qawwalis, I’ve always found myself diving deep into the meaning behind the lyrics, relating them to my own experiences. But there’s one song that particularly resonated with me and beautifully captured the essence of life and more importantly, the concept of Moksha.

The song Main Zindagi Ka Saath Nibhata Chala Gaya from the movie Hum Dono, picturized on the iconic Dev Anand, written by the brilliant Sahir Ludhiyanvi, holds a special place in my heart. While
