Her boldness also comes into play after Lena sees her favorite pop star being interviewed at the mall. Lena is confused when her favorite pop star refers to herself as more than one person using words like we and us during the interview. Her curiosity leads her to seek an answer to the question, "Why would anyone think of themselves as more than one person?"

Clean Out Garage—Boring!
Lena Howard and her mom are helping her grandma clear out her garage for her garage sale.
Why are we cleaning out Grandma's garage?
Lena asked, breathing out her boredom of cleaning out the garage.
She wants to have a garage sale to get rid of some of her stuff.
The garage was full of brown boxes, huge plastic containers, and bike parts that were sitting in a pile in the corner of the garage. Grandma loves to ride bikes. She fixes them too. After an hour of going through boxes, containers and moving all kinds of parts to the yard, Lena noticed she had not seen her grandma since they started.
Where is Grandma?
she asked her mom.
That is a good question. Let me go see what she is doing,
her mom replied, getting up from the lawn chair she was sitting on as she went through boxes.
Finish putting those bike parts in the separate boxes on the yard,
her mom said, walking through the garage door that went into the kitchen. The late morning was getting pretty warm for springtime in Arkansas. Lena took off her jacket and laid it on the chair. She continued sorting the bike parts.
