And He Was - PilinyTheYounger
Jylan had proudly said, a day ago, that the sun was still there.
It wasn't anymore, so he was stupid.
Everything had gone downhill from that day when Jylan and Sebastian had found eachother again. Well, actually, scratch that - things had not gone downhill, they had stayed just the same. And that was the problem. One day later, Jylan was still sitting in this suspicious metal cage. Sebastian, who had seemingly been drugged, spent most of the day peacefully sleeping, which Jylan didn't mind so much because the prince seemed like a docile cat even when he was awake.
But the problem was that he was still here. Jylan leaned his head against the cold bars. He had been trying to find a way to escape for that whole day and the last, and the best thing he had been able to come up with was ing the floorboards and dropping out. Which had semi-worked, as he had been able to pull up a floorboard and was now looking at a space, perfect for jumping out.
But the problem was, where would they go?
Sebastian couldn't go back to his kingdom, and even though Jylan could, it would also only be a matter of time before he was forced out. Not that he needed to go back anyway - he had been throwing himself at work for about a month after Sebastian had left to distract himself, and he would now easily be gone for a year without any problems. That and the fact that he had loyal assistants.
So then, he had concluded that he would worry about that once they escaped. Now, he tapped Sebastian on the shoulder, who clearly blinked awake. Jylan smiled, holding a finger to his lips, and then pointed to the floorboards.
Soon, they snuck out together, taking turns jumping off the caravan into the night, and then hiding in the bushes before anyone saw.
And then they walked off together into the night, hand-in-hand.
JYLAN AND SEBASTIAN walked back to the town where Sebastian had originally been. The advisors had either given up on finding the prince or had found out about him being a slave and decided they didn't need to worry anymore, because there weren't any posters left, and even if there had been, Sebastian wouldn't have been recognizable.
So, what now, butler?
Sebastian asked sarcastically as they walked down the street. The cobblestones on the street were sharp, and they were both barefoot, but they tried their best to ignore it.
Ah, I don't know...
Jylan said, rubbing his chin. Sebastian stopped walking to stare at him.
You don't know?! Then are you a butler or a -
Sebastian started, and Jylan put a hand on his mouth, just to keep things PG.
We'll figure it out as we go. After all, I have you now, my prince.
Jylan said, and Sebastian turned too red to argue, and they continued walking down the street with Sebastian occasionally grumbling to himself. Jylan, meanwhile, was having a good time because he not only knew exactly what he was doing but also because he genuinely meant what he had said even if it sounded like a joke.
He truly was glad to have Sebastian back.
THE NEXT WEEK, JYLAN looked at their clothes and said, trying to be respectful,
My prince. We look like street beggars.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow and stood up, turning 360 degrees for Jylan. His once-royal clothes had now been completely scrapped. The cloth was not only wrinkled, it was torn and splattered with mud. There were multiple holes in it. Then he said, dripping in sarcasm, Oh really, butler, I didn't know I looked like a street beggar! How noble you are to open my eyes.
Jylan sighed, he had slightly expected that, and said, How about we make ourselves new clothes?
With what money, butler?
Sebastian fired, and Jylan patted the tuft of hair on his head. Then Sebastian realized what he was saying and paled.
You don't mean...
Soon they arrived at the barber.
The shop itself was a neat, small shop, with three chairs, one large table in the corner, and a single counter in the opposite corner.
But they had no idea that the barber was simply The Jester in disguise, and Lei was hiding behind the counter.
Don't even ask why they were there. That'll all be explained later.
For now, The Jester happily ushered both of them into the shop, and held out his hands, with scissors in his hands.
Welcome, welcome in. What haircut would you like?
The barber asked, quickly pushing some hair on the floor aside with a foot. Sebastian and Jylan exchanged glances.
We're fine with anything.
They said, and a laugh suddenly echoed from behind the counter. What was that?
