PREFACE
My writing poetry started in 1972: after Meditating an hour a day for three months, Poems were ‘delivered whole’! I jumped up and ‘transcribed’ them in 60 seconds, as I feared forgetting what had been ‘delivered’! I was completely stunned, as it was unexpected, and I had never ever written poetry.
Forty Eight years later, I was reading a book on Mindfulness, and to my shock, it explaining my first three Poems! It said: René Descartes’s I think therefore I am
in his Discourse on Method (1637) was his first step in demonstrating the attainability of certain knowledge! The first rebuttal of this idea came 300 years later, when Jean-Paul Sartre replied: Consciousness is not possible ‘in Words’
! I had an Ah-Ha
moment, as it elegantly explaining the meaning & logic behind my first 3 Poems. It had never occurred to me! My 4th poem was kind of transcendental explanation to ‘assuage my guilt’
I surmise, for using words, to explain consciousness. Thus, my poems explain Meditation, Breathing, &
