Man is an amazing creation. A man has a soul, a spirit and the body. The soul is the mind, will, and the emotions. The soul has faculties on it which are:

Imagination- Allows you to create something out of nothing. It’s what you use to take an idea, something that is non-physical and turn it into something physical.

Will- it is what you choose or the ability to make your own choice.

Perception- is how you see things. Perception has both conscious and subconscious mind functions.

Intuition- is the small voice that speaks the truth.

Reason- is what we use to think, to analyze, compare, and evaluate ideas. It’s the primary way we choose, and we use it in every choice we make.

Memory- We use our memory to store information and events that take place in our sight.

A man has a spirit which is connected to the heart. The spirit is the spiritual side of man. It interacts with God and the spiritual realm through its own set of senses, things like faith, hope, and prayer. Our spirit is the real us and the spirit is eternal is not like the body, the body dies but the spirit will live forever. The spirit also has a mind which is the subconscious mind and the subconscious mind is the heart.

A man also has a body. The body is the physical side of a person. It touches the material world through five senses of sight, smell, hearing, taste, touch.

Science has revealed that our minds, emotions, and will are connected to the body through our endocrine, nervous, and immune systems, in a very complex way. The bible affirms there is a strong connection between our physical, emotional, and spiritual health. For example it is written, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dried up bones." (Proverbs 17:22) This verse tells us that the condition of our souls and spirits affect our physical health.
