    Chapter One

    The Sex Monster

June 18, 1950, was a quiet Sunday night in America’s first suburb in the 50’s, the suburban community of Levittown in Long Island, New York. The community had swimming pools, shopping centers, and backyards. Each home looked the same. They were all built in the Cape Cod style and featured the same floor plan. They each cost around $7,000. Three-year-old Raymond was a little cranky, so his mother held him until he slept in her arms. She got up, being very careful not to wake him. Mrs. Johnson (Sally) carried Raymond, laid his crib, and told him, Well, little man, you will be out of that crib next week and into a new bed. She waited to ensure he was asleep and returned to the living room to finish reading her life magazine on the latest fashion. Mr Johnson worked the night shift as a tugboat worker, aligning cargo ships in position to be unloaded the next day. Mr. Johnson (Edward) worked from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and always figured it was safe to leave his wife alone at night cause of the new suburban community. While Mrs. Johnson was reading, she thought she heard a noise. She got up from her chair, walked into the kitchen, and saw nothing. Then, suddenly, she felt a hand over her mouth and an arm around her neck, and a voice said: If you scream, I will kill you right here. Mrs Johnson was as frightened as she could be and agreed to cooperate cause she was thinking of little Raymond asleep in the next room. At the time, Mrs Johnson did not know who she was dealing with. A serial killer, Ralph J. Dips, born in 1930, known as the Sex Monster, had already killed fourteen women. First, Ralph ripped off all her clothes but her bra and panties. Then he took his knife and cut her bra and panties off. Mrs. Johnson stood there naked as a bluejay with her arms and hands, trying to hide her breasts and vagina. Ralph told Sally to drop her hands and arms and turn to face him. As she stood there, Ralph knew it hit the mother load with her perfect body of 36-22-36. Then Ralph noticed Sally had blue eyes and beautiful blonde hair with a small patch of freckles on the bridge of her nose and cheeks. As Ralph ran his hands all over Sally’s body, he noticed more patches of freckles on her shoulders and the top of her legs. Ralph was getting excited and started touching her breasts, running his hand over her vagina. Sally let out a scream, waking Raymond, who started to cry. Raymond was crying and calling for Mommie Mommie. Sally said: Do not worry, baby mommie will be there when she is finished. Ralph was pissed and said: I did not know you had a damn kid in the next room. Ralph ran into Raymond’s room to see how big the kid was. When he got to the door, he yelled, When I am finished with your Mommie, you are next and only partially shut the bedroom door. Ralph returned to the kitchen, pulled out his penis, and rammed into Sally, and now she was crying and screaming, Stop or please stop. The more Sally screamed and begged, the more sexually aroused Ralph became. Then he put his hands around her neck and squeezed as he pumped her harder and harder.

Sally’s eyes started to bug out of her eye sockets, and her face turned blue. Her oxygen was being cut off the more Ralph squeezed her neck. As Ralph ejaculated, Sally grasped her last breath and clumped over dead in Ralp’s arms. Ralph laid her naked body on the floor, took out his dark red lipstick holder, wrote the letter S on her left breast, and rode the letter M on her right breast. Ralph put the lipstick holder back in his pocket, then went to the bedroom to go in and take care of Raymond. Ralph walked back to Raymond’s bedroom with his knife drawn, and when he got to the doorway, his heart just melted. There was the cutest baby boy with blue eyes and blonde hair he ever saw. Ralph has blue eyes and blonde hair, which saves Raymond from getting killed. Ralph grabbed Raymond in his arms. Raymond screamed his lungs out, and Ralph fed the crime scene, carrying Raymond in his arms. Ralph ran down the street where he hid his truck, threw Raymond in the front seat, and drove off like a bat out of hell.

Edward got home at about 6:45 a.m. and when he opened the kitchen door and saw Sally naked and dead on the kitchen floor. He let out a scream that could be heard in Buffalo, New York. He dropped to his knees and tried everything he knew to bring Sally back. Then he realized Raymond, his baby son, was in the next room. He jumped to his feet and ran to Raymond’s bedroom, and when he saw Raymond, he was gone. He fell over with tears pouring down his face and wailed like a banshee when Raymond was not there. He kept saying over and over again please God, not my son. The next-door neighbor heard all the raucous and called the police department. When the police got to the house and saw Mrs. Johnson, one police officer called the homicide detectives right away. The police, with no prevail, try to comfort Mr. Johnson the best way they know how. Mr. Johnson was such an emotional wreck, screaming and crying, and the police could not calm him down. One police officer called for an ambulance to take him to the hospital to give him something to get him under control and calm his nerves down. When the detectives arrived, they saw Mrs Johnson wearing dark red lipstick. One detective said: Oh my lord, it is the serial killer Sex Monster" and Mrs Johnson is number fifteen. Those detectives went over the crime scene with a fine-toothcomb and found no clue. As Ralph was driving to his house hidden in the woods, Raymond kept crying and asking for his Mommie. Ralph pulled into his driveway, put the truck inside the garage, and took Raymond to the house. He got a small glass of ice-cold milk and a peanut butter cookie and gave them to Raymond. No sooner than Raymond bit into the cookie, he stopped crying instantly. Ralph never had any children, but anticipation turned over while watching Raymond. Ralph could see Raymond had a big smile, just munching away at that peanut butter cookie that was now all over his face, and he kept drinking milk. Now Ralph was thinking, how in the hell am I going to take of this baby? But in the back of his mind, having someone to talk to would be nice.

As the days turned into weeks and weeks into months, Raymond had grown a custom and started to like Ralph. Ralph treated Raymond like the son he never had. Ralph began feeling for Raymond and did everything for that boy to make him comfortable. Ralph was a serial killer who did not have to killed every day. Only when he gets a strong lust emotion or feeling, does he become the sex monster. For some unknown reason, if Ralph saw certain things that he could not control, that would trigger his predator sensation to have sex with a woman constantly. The trigger for him was always the same: it was the specific way a woman looked or walked, the color of her hair, once it was the color of her bright red lips. At the same time, he has sex with a woman and does not know why he always kills her. Then he would take a red lipstick and write S M somewhere on their bodies as his personal victory trophy. On the outside, Ralph was the most excellent person, always willing to help those down and out. But on the inside, he was just pure evil with a heart of stone until Raymond came into his life, and now his heart began to soften a little. With Raymond now in his life, his sexual appetite and killing sprees were getting less and far between. Ralph had the responsibility of a son he had to rise and take care of. Ralph was knowledgeable. He could repair, make, or build anything from A to Z. As Raymond grew older, he started to lose the memory of his birth father, and as more time passed, he always thought of Ralph as his father. Ralph taught Raymond everything he knew about repairing, designing, and building anything.

To test Raymond’s skills and intelligence, Ralph would give Raymond a job to repair or an idea for a project to see if he could design and build it. If Raymond completed the repair or project with Ralph’s approval, then Raymond was given ice-cold milk and peanut butter cookies as a reward and bonus. As the years went on, Raymond grew to love Ralph. In Raymond’s eyes, no one could ever replace Ralph. Then, one day, out of the blue, Raymaond called Ralph, his father, and Ralph just stood there and had a small tear in his eye. They embraced each other with a big hug, and Ralph said: Thank You, son. From that day on, Ralph the Sex Monster went into hibernation and never came out of the cave again to terrorize another woman. One morning, Ralph woke up with a warm feeling all over. He felt a little funny and did not have that urge to kill or harm anyone. Ralph contributed it all to Raymond, who gave him Raymond, which made him normal again.

One morning before Ralph went to work at ABC Electronics, he stopped at the Anything Diner to get coffee. As he walked in, he noticed a new waitress who had just started working there. Ralph went to the counter to order the coffee to go. She waited on Ralph, and as soon as their eyes met, it was love at first sight. Ralph said: Could you please fill my thermos with coffee to go. Then, with his great charm, Ralph said: I am Ralph Dips, and you must be new. I have never seen you in here before. Joan said: Glad to meet you, and I will have the coffee up right away, and oh my name is Joan Stevens. Standing momentarily, taking off his hat, Ralph said, Stevens, do you know a Sally Stevens? With a big smile, Joan said: Yes, she was my older sister. Ralph said: My god, she was a looker, and so are you. Joan handed the thermos of coffee to Ralph with a taped piece of paper with her phone number on it. Ralph thanked her and told her, see you around.

At work, Ralph kept thinking he would call Joan tonight after work. When Ralph got home, Raymond was getting supper ready. It was going to be hamburgers and mixed vegetables. It was Ralph’s turn to clean and do the dishes. While Raymond was doing his homework, Ralph decided to call Joan. Ralph picked up the phone and dialed the number. The phone rang a couple of times, and a voice at the other end said: Hello. Ralph said: Joan, this is Ralph, and I thought I would give you a call. Joan was excited when she heard Ralph’s voice and said: Ralph, I am glad you called, and it is nice to talk to someone since I do not know a soul in this town.

Ralph put two and two together and said: Since you are the younger sister, Sally, you must be from Albany. Joan said: You hit the nail on the head. I came to New York City only to get a better job. When I got here, that damn company gave my job to somebody else, so I had to take the job at the diner so I could eat. Ralph said: What are job skills? Joan said: I can do almost anything from office work to working in a shop. Ralph said: We have a couple of openings in my shop tomorrow morning. I will talk to my supervisor about getting you an interview. Joan said: Thank You, and that would be wonderful, Ralph. Then Ralph popped the big questions and asked Joan if she wanted to go out this weekend?’ Joan excited in her voice and said: I sure would. Ralph said: I will pick you up at 7:00 pm. We can get something to eat and go to the movies. I will call you tomorrow night about your job interview. Joan said: That’s great, and I will wait for your call.

When Ralph went to work the following day, he talked to his supervisor about giving Joan a job interview. The supervisor said: Have her come in. We have a couple of openings that need to be filled. That night, when Ralph got home, he immediately called Joan and told her the good news about tomorrow’s job interview. Joan was happy and told Ralph Thank You and would be at his work first thing in the morning. The following day, when Ralph stopped at the diner to get his coffee, Joan was not there, and he knew she would be at the job interview. All day long, Ralph was wondering if Joan got the job. As Ralph walked through the door at home, the phone was ringing. Ralph picked up and said: Hello. Joan was so excited she could hardly speak, and Ralph heard I got the job and I start tomorrow. Ralph said: Joan, thats great. I can pick you up tomorrow and ride together to work. Joan said: Great, I will see you tomorrow. Ralph was beside himself even at supper. Raymond said: Dad, you are acted kind of funny, and what wrong?

Ralph said: "Well, son, your dad is going on a date on Saturday in which it has been a while since I have dated, and I am a little
