    DESCRIPTION

This story is an extraordinary tale of a life that has captivated and inspired, leaving a mark on hearts and astounding minds. They say a habit forms when something lasts a long time, so this story will become a habit, igniting your imagination and making your heart race.

Martin's words echo, You cannot bring him back.

Why does everyone keep saying that to me? asked Angel.

This is more than just a story; it is an unforgettable true story that will stay with you long after the final page. It serves as a reminder that sometimes the most profound moments are found in the unexpected.

I know he's dead, but Eddy will always stay in my heart.

    PROLOGUE

I know that waking up today still hasn't sunk in; nothing has sunk in. It's a horrible dream; it has to be

The day I found a new version of myself was the day my life flipped upside down, and I became a new person. People often refer to this as trauma or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). You see, it did not affect only one person; it never does. It affected many. People often still talk about this story because no one knows what happened to my brother, Christopher, and me after the death of my other brother, Edward Hallam, whom I firmly believe was murdered by someone he trusted.

As the word of the death on June 14, 2017, spread, so did the rumors of what had happened. If you live in a small town, you can relate. The first person Christopher suspected was threatening—if he had anything to do with the murder, he'd better come clean now. Both claimed innocence, but Christopher knew

that one of them had been trying to find a ride to see Edward the previous night.

The second person was seen the night before and the morning of the death, parked in the driveway—not in a vehicle, but it was assumed inside Edward's camper. She was smart to bring her child with her inside the public McDonald's restaurant in Lamar, MO. Honestly, I would give no care to the fact that there were people there. I was mad at the world and felt ten feet tall and bulletproof as if nothing could affect me that hadn't already done so.

I wanted to find the person who kept following my brother Christopher and me after the death of my brother, and I wanted justice for my brother Edward. I would not stop until I found myself at peace, or justice was served in my way.

    CHAPTER-ONE 1981

There was snow on the ground and snow falling. My sisters, Nancy and Julie, and I played in the snow. I thought about how fun it was and how lucky I was to have a family. That day seemed like many others in my life—nothing out of the ordinary, nothing unfamiliar. It was just an ordinary day.

When I turned twelve, my father began to feel overwhelmed with everything, as if all the weight was lifting onto his shoulders. A week had passed, and my father arrived home early from work. My mother was in the kitchen, about to begin making supper.

Mother began to ask why he was home early from work when Father tucked his head down and his gaze shifted toward the kitchen floor, clearing his throat of what seemed to be bothering him.
