    EXT. FISHING VILLAGE - DAY

We open on a small FISHING VILLAGE nestled on the coast. The sun is shining, the seagulls are chirping, and the sound of waves crashing against the shore can be heard in the background. Children run and play in the streets, while adults tend to do their daily tasks.

We see a small house sitting on the edge of the village. A woman, JENNA (40s), is sitting on the porch, watching her children play. Her three daughters, SARA (8), LUCY (6), and MARIA (4) are playing hopscotch in the yard. Her two teenage sons, JASON (15) and MIKE (16) are fixing fishing nets on a nearby boat.

Jenna watches her children with a smile on her face. She seems content and happy in her life.

    JENNA

(to herself) I couldn’t ask for a better life. My children are happy and healthy and we have each other.

She stands up and walks over to the boat where her sons are working.

    JENNA

(to Jason and Mike) Are you boys finished with the nets?

    JASON

(nodding) Almost, Mother. Just a few more knots to tie.

Jenna watches as her sons finish their work. She can’t help but feel a sense of pride for her hardworking boys.

    JENNA

(to herself) They’ll make great fishermen one day.

Suddenly, the sky darkens and clouds roll in. Jenna looks up, a sense of unease creeping over her.

    JENNA

(to her children) Come on, kids. It looks like a storm is coming. Pagdali, mabasa gyud mo sa uwan ron (Faster, you might get soaked in the rain). Let’s head inside.

The children quickly gather their things and follow Jenna into the house.

Jenna closes the door and locks it, making sure everything is secure.

INT. JENNA’S HOUSE – SAME DAY

Jenna and her children sit in the living room, watching the storm rage outside. Lightning flashes and thunder rumbles, making the children jump. Jenna holds them close, trying to calm their fears.

    JENNA

(to her children) It’s okay, it’s just a storm. We’ll be safe here. Pangamuyo mo (Just pray.)

There is a loud crash and the front door is torn off its hinges. Jenna screams as water floods into the house.
