    About the Author

    Babysitter Harem: Hannah

Ms. Wilkinson was waiting outside of Lot-O'-Tots Daycare with Joshua when I pulled up at the curb. From the look on her face, she wasn't happy with me. Not happy at all.

I'm sorry I'm late, I hurried to say as I picked up Joshua in his car carrier. Traffic getting out of Dallas was a nightmare. Please bill my credit card for the extra time.

Her frown deepened, pulling lines on her face until she looked like a brooding bulldog. It isn't about the billing, she grumbled. When you're late, two of the staff are stuck here waiting until you show up. They have families, too, Mr. Cole.

    I understand. I'm sorry.

I'm afraid sorry isn't going to cut it, anymore. This has become a habit. If you're late again, Joshua won't be allowed back. It isn't fair to my people.

Joshua gurgled up at me, completely oblivious to grown-up issues, and I smiled down at him. Hey, buddy. Did you have a good day?

    "Da-da!"

Carefully I got his carrier latched into the car seat and double-checked that all the straps were tight before stashing his diaper bag into the floorboard. Love you, too. We'll be home soon.

As I pulled out onto the road, I glanced at my phone. Call Beth, I said.

Beth lived in the same subdivision I did, and we'd dated briefly after my divorce until we both admitted that we had zero chemistry. We'd stayed friends, although we rarely saw each other these days. The important thing at the moment was that she had twin five-year-old boys.

    Aaron?

"Hey, I hate to bother you, but the daycare is going to kick Joshua out if I'm late picking him up again. Do you know of anyone who'd
