    The Last Supper

As the sun began its descent, casting long shadows over the ancient city of Jerusalem, Jesus gathered his disciples together in a quiet corner of the bustling streets. The air was charged with anticipation, for the time of the Passover feast was near, and Jesus had important instructions for his followers.

Listen to me, my dear friends, Jesus began, his voice calm yet filled with solemnity. The time has come for us to celebrate the Passover together. Go into the city and find a man carrying a jar of water. Follow him to the house he enters, and say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher says: Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?'

The disciples exchanged curious glances, unsure of what Jesus meant by these instructions. Nevertheless, they nodded in understanding and prepared to carry out his commands.

Peter, always eager to be at the forefront of action, spoke up. But Master, how will we know which man to follow? And what if the owner of the house refuses to let us in?

Jesus smiled gently at Peter's questions. Have faith, Peter, he replied. The one carrying the jar of water will be a sign to you. And as for the owner of the house, tell him, 'The Teacher desires to eat the Passover with his disciples.' He will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Prepare the Passover there.

With their instructions clear, the disciples set out into the city, their hearts filled with a sense of purpose and anticipation. They kept their eyes peeled for a man carrying a jar of water, as Jesus had instructed, trusting that they would be led to the appropriate location.

After some time, they spotted a man walking ahead, his movements purposeful as he carried a jar of water on his shoulder. Without hesitation, the disciples followed him through the winding streets until they reached the designated house.

Approaching the owner of the house, they relayed Jesus' message, and to their relief, the owner welcomed them warmly, showing them to the large upper room that had been prepared for their Passover celebration.

As they entered the room, a sense of reverence washed over them. Here, in this humble abode, they would partake in the sacred Passover meal with their beloved Teacher. And though they did not fully comprehend the significance of Jesus' words, they trusted in his wisdom and guidance, knowing that they were part of something far greater than themselves.

As Jesus instructed his disciples to prepare for the Passover meal, indicating the location where they would celebrate, a hushed silence fell over the group. The disciples exchanged glances, a mixture of confusion and concern evident on their faces.

Peter, always the impulsive one, was the first to speak up. Lord, surely you don't mean me? he asked, his voice tinged with disbelief.

John, the beloved disciple, looked at Jesus with wide eyes. Master, is it I? he questioned, his voice barely above a whisper.

One by one, the other disciples voiced their own doubts and fears, each questioning whether they could be the one Jesus was referring to. Some spoke with certainty that they would never betray their Lord, while others voiced their uncertainty, their faith shaken by Jesus' words.

Jesus looked at each of them with love and compassion, understanding their confusion and fear. One of you will indeed betray me, he said, his voice gentle yet firm. But woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.

The disciples sat in stunned silence, grappling with the weight of Jesus' words. They couldn't imagine any of their number betraying their beloved teacher and friend. Yet Jesus's words had a profound impact on each of them, causing them
