About this ebook
The document describes a series of events involving characters such as Esteban, Frederic, and Raul Vargas. It begins with a scene at Miami International Airport, where Esteban decides to stay in Miami and receives an American Express card from Frederic. Subsequently, Esteban gets into a taxi and has a confrontation with the driver, leading to a car accident and a bus crash. Despite sustaining a head injury, Esteban miraculously regains the ability to walk and rescues the taxi driver from the burning car. A few months later, a jury trial is held in Florida, where Frederic is called as a witness and a victim. During the trial, a surprising revelation occurs when Esteban, who is believed to be an invalid, appears in court walking on his own two feet and identifies himself as Esteban Pablo Jimenez. This unexpected turn of events leaves Frederic in disbelief. The document concludes with Esteban expressing his decision to take responsibility for his actions, and both Esteban and Raul being led away.

STEP 1.
Exquisite villa in the Los Angeles area. Nightfall. Lights come on in the windows of the house.
Soon, they are gone. A luxury SUV driven by a solid 60-year-old man pulls out of the yard. It's FREDERICK FERINER.
(Someone is watching the villa through binoculars.)
While driving, Feriner makes a phone call to his wife, Dr NENSI FERINER.
NENSI: Frederic, is something wrong?
FREDERIK: I'll come and pick you up from work.
Feriner calls a Tokyo stockbroker while driving: It's only morning in Japan. It's early in the morning in Tokyo.
The Ferineris family is wealthy and owns a clinic. Frederic suggests that his wife dine at a suburban restaurant: although the bypass makes the journey home longer, the route is much more varied.
Over dinner, they talk about family matters and their grown-up sons.
After leaving the restaurant, the Ferineris move towards home.
It's late evening and there is hardly any traffic. The road is winding, hill-to-hill.
Suddenly, a car pulls out from the shoulder ahead. Frederik is blinded by the headlights. A roaring car passes.
For Feriner, such behaviour on the road is suspicious.
FREDERICK (in a worried voice): Nensi, haven't you noticed anything?
NENSI (casually): 'Nothing'.
Frederic reflects on the accident, on the injured and abandoned man. He decides to turn around.
Step 2.
Frederic drives back at a slower speed. Fresh tracks can be seen on the roadside. Frederic turns onto the shoulder. The headlights illuminate the loma. The couple see the silhouette of a man lying down. They drive closer. The man is injured but alive, only unconscious. The couple call for a rescue helicopter.
Paramedics transfer the injured person to a helicopter. The helicopter transports the man to the Ferineriai clinic. Nancy leaves with the others, while Frederic is left waiting for the police.
A police car pulls up. An examination of the scene reveals no blood, no signs of braking and no other traces of the accident. As if by chance, the forensic
