Dedication
This book is a heartfelt dedication to my mother, Mable Scruggs. Throughout my journey as her caregiver, my heart has been filled with compassion and pain. Witnessing the impact of Alzheimer's on my Mom's life has been deeply heartbreaking not only for me, my brother, and her grandchildren but for all our family and friends who cherish her dearly.
However, amidst the challenges, this experience has also been incredibly rewarding. The simple gestures of a hug, a smile, and speaking to her with care, compassion, and dignity have proven to be powerful in making her feel happy and valued. Despite the grasp of this degenerative disease, my mother remains resilient and continues to embrace life.
The love and sacrifices my mother made for her children have left an everlasting impact, inspiring me to Love, Protect, Provide, and Advocate for the best care she deserves. It is my duty as a caregiver to see to it that she is provided with compassionate care in a supportive environment. Whether caregiving is in place at home or entrusted to a long-term care facility, the ultimate goal is to ensure that my mother is able to maintain a high quality of life and care until she takes her last breath.
This book is also dedicated to caregivers like you, facing the challenges of Alzheimer's with your loved ones.
