About this ebook
This story is a movie in the form of a book. It delves deep into paranormal activity of spirits, energy, ghosts, and even demons.
The team gets involved in some very strange, funny, and yes, some very serious ongoings. But there is one spirit that they get drawn very close to, like moths to a flame. She tells them what she wants but leaves out one important detail.
In this author's last book, The Bastard Son, you were told from the start that it was a true story. But he doesn't say if this one is a true story or not.
He wants you, as the reader, to decide.
Truth or fiction?

About the Author
This story is dedicated to my four great kids: Deb, Roxy, Jonie, and Joe. And to my wonderful wife, Rosie, who likes a great mystery but also enjoys a paranormal now and then.
A special thank-you to my personal editor, Roxy, aka Rig.
Chapter 1
Meeting Team Paranormal
Hey, Steve, do you really believe in ghosts?
asks Dan.
How in the hell did you come up with that?
Steve shoots back.
Well, for the past six years, isn't that what we've been doing? And by the way, is it on account of your mom that you even got started in this business?
Dan asks.
Steve replies, Dan, you are partly right. As you know, my mother, bless her soul, was one of the best psychics around and was very, very sensitive to all things close to her.
Dan nods. So that's where you get all your sensitivity from, your mom, huh?
Steve shrugs. Yeah, I suppose so. But I don't have anywhere near the feelings and the extra-sharp perception that she had. Remember, she was once known as ‘the great Grace Browne.' She did a lot of readings for the general population at seminars and on television, had a few books published, and even helped the police solve a few cases.
Dan wants to know, How come you didn't follow more along her path?
Steve smiles. Oh, she wanted me to. She wanted to ‘tune me up a little,' as she called it, to her sharp perception. But you know, I think that all those voices that she heard about drove her nuts. I am sure that toward the end, they did get to her. She couldn't sleep at night, and boy, I didn't want no part of that! She said that all those voices were from lost or trapped souls that couldn't cross over to the other side because they had something to say or tell or some unfinished business to tend to first, and that was her job to help them do it.
Steve continues, And although I don't want to do what my mother did, I am still very interested in the scientific side of all this. And I know that I have a very strong attachment for her and to all this paranormal stuff.
Dan nods. That you do, my friend, very much so. But tell me, why drag me and Joe into this with you?
Steve responds with a grin, Well, Dan, you and I have been friends for a long time, and you being the high-tech person that you are, so very good with machines and equipment, and knowing how to read and understand the data they are putting out, it was a no-brainer. And you have proven that over and over by saving us a lot of money, by not having to buy new equipment, and by converting some of our equipment over to doing multiple tasks. Why, hell, you're invaluable, man!
He continues, Now Joe and I have been friends ever since grade school. He has a very good head on his shoulders and can spot trouble a mile away. He can, and probably will, save our asses a time or two! Hell, when we were little, I thought that he was my long-lost brother, and sometimes I thought that our mom liked him best.
He looks over at Joe and says, Hey, Joe, are you my long-lost brother?
Joe retorts back, You tell me, Steve. You are the psychic!
Steve is quiet for a minute then says, Well, back to the big question, do I really believe in ghosts? Let's start with what I do know and what all three of us on Team Paranormal have seen, heard, and been a witness to or have even felt. We have seen apparitions down at the end of a hallway. We have seen colored orbs on more than one occasion just floating around and objects moving. We have heard footsteps, doors and windows closing, things falling from shelves, strange and different noises, and even voices trying to say a word or put some words together. We have felt cold, heat and uneasiness and the presence of someone or something close by.
He continues, Now I don't know if this is a ghost or what it has to do with a ghost. I don't suppose that I will believe in ghosts until that day when I feel a tap on my shoulder and I turn around and see a white-sheeted apparition looking me right in the eye and saying, ‘Hello, I am Casper, your friendly neighborhood ghost!'
Steve grins at them, and Dan and Joe let out a big belly laugh.
Joe chuckles. Now I know why I promised your mother that I would look out for your ass and try to keep you out of trouble!
Chapter 2
Too Bad, June
Steve gives Dan and Joe a smile as he says, Well, guys, I hope you two had a good time and enjoyed the three-day weekend!
I had a real good time.
Dan nods. I was on a party boat with some very nice-looking ladies, camped on the beach, danced in the sand and enjoyed a beer or two.
He looks in Joe's direction. What about you, Joe? How did you make out?
Joe responds, Well, I spent a lot of time visiting an old friend in the hospital.
Steve glances at his friend. Sorry to hear about that. Who is the old friend?
Joe looks at the ground and replies, June. Her name is June.
Steve's mouth drops open. You don't mean the June who dumped you a few years ago? The June that made you so miserable for about four months that you weren't even fit to be around? Let's see if I remember this right. She was very pretty, and after meeting her, she was oh-so nice and made you fall madly in love with her. And then the games began! She was the queen, not just a girlfriend but a trophy girl of some sort, and you were to do whatever she asked, and you weren't even worthy of her friendship, let alone being her man, boyfriend, or lover. Then she dumped you, found another guy, and did the same thing. I understand that she did this to about five or six guys from the neighborhood. She was lucky some guy didn't flip out and do her in! So now that I've run my mouth off, tell me what happened!
Joe begins, "Well, her sister called me and told me that June had met her soulmate and was madly in love. She had done a complete turnaround in her life and was a whole new person, caring and thinking about others instead of only herself, like she used to. Her sister said that she was very proud of June and her turnaround and that you would have never guessed that she was even the same person as before. And then it happened. Like she had done to so many guys before, the guy dumped her with no explanation."
Joe sighs and continues the story. She couldn't handle it and tried to kill herself. When her sister found her, June had taken a bottle of pills and had slit one wrist.
He continues, telling Steve, You know, I had some very mixed feelings over this. At first, when I heard about her being dumped, I was filled with joy, yes, joy. But then when I saw her in the hospital, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. She wasn't that beautiful creature she once was. She was frail, just a shell of a person lying there in that bed.
Steve puts his hand on his shoulder and asks him if he thinks that June even knew that he was there. Joe shakes his head and says that she opened her eyes a couple of times, but he isn't sure if she even knew who he was.
Steve asks, What's her prognosis? Did you hear anything?
Joe nods. Yes, the doctors seem to think that in a week or two, she will be as good as new.
Steve claps his friend on the back. I guess that could be a good thing, or maybe bad for someone, huh, Joe?
Joe smiles. Yeah, I guess you're right, but one thing is proven for sure. It's like they say, what goes around, comes around.
In unison, Steve and Dan say, Karma, Joe, that's called Karma, and don't you forget it!
Chapter 3
Evict the Spooks
Steve walks into the room and announces, Guys, pack your bags. We will be gone awhile on this one. It's a bit far from our territory, but I told the guy that we would come and check the place out and see what we can do.
The guys want to know, Where is this place, and who is this guy?
Steve informs them that the place is a winery in south central Mississippi, in a little town south of Jackson. He tells them that the owner of the place is a man named Samuel Johnson. He further tells them that the owner claims that the place is haunted, full of ghosts, and he wants them out of there, and that he will fill them in more when they get there.
A couple days later, the team is driving up the long driveway to the winery in their big van. A man steps out to greet them. He extends a hand and says he is glad they found the place. Steve shakes his outstretched hand and introduces himself, and then Dan and Joe, the rest of Team Paranormal.
The man grins broadly and says, The name is Sam. Just call me Sam.
