y Acknowledgments are the same as the last book, but I just want to add to it. To my husband Levi Frazier (BooBoo). The one who always reminds me to finish what I started. When I first started writing my first book, I just wanted to see if I could do it. I did, and when I was done, I threw it to the side. He asked, Now what?
I said, Nothing.
he said, Oh no, now we got to look into getting it published.
The thought of publishing it never crossed my mind. My goal was just to write it to see if I could do it. He always pushes me to do and take the extra step. When I decided to apply for the corrections job, I did the testing; he drove me back and forth for the many interviews, tests, and things. Once it was done, I told him I was not going to take the job and that I just wanted to see if I could get it. Once again, my goal was met, or so I thought. Here he comes to remind me that the job is not complete and theirs one more step to take - take the job. I will do 9 out of 10 and 99 out of 100, and he comes and reminds me there is one more step to take and that I can do it and to finish strong and, most importantly, ALMOST DOESN'T COUNT. Thank you for that, my best friend and my better half.
I want to add three ladies to my down-as-chick list. You are not an afterthought, Dee Dee P. We've been through so much, we are basically family, and Charlece, my favorite cuzin/ shoe whore, Monica H whom often disappears but hey nothing changes when it comes to my down-ass chicks.
It saddens me to add my brother Andre Austin, aka Desco, to my list of guardian angles. Please watch over us with the rest of them.
So often, we read books and learn so little about the characters. The very characters we like, don’t like, love, or hate. We form an opinion on each of the characters, sometimes feeling like we don’t know much about them unless they are the main characters. Well, sometimes someone other than that main character catches your attention, and you want to know just a little more about them. Sometimes, you wonder what made them the way they are, and it helps you relate better. At least for me, when I read, sometimes I just want to know a little more about that not so focused on character. This is why I decided to write the character book so you can take a closer look into the lives of a few of Deep Seeds' characters. You just might understand them better after this, and it will definitely prepare you for Deep Seeds Part Two trials and tribulations. So let’s dig into it. If you haven't read Deep Seeds, go get it.

About The Author
CHARLES
S
o we all remember Charles, Cassandra's husband. Well, let’s go back a little, and I’ll tell you more about Charles. Charles Darnell Baxton is a 50-year-old city official who is very successful. He has light-skinned skin, 62
, is in great shape, and looks like a light version of Morris Chestnut. He has a twin sister, Kelly; they were born to very well-off parents. Their mother was a retired registered nurse, and their father a retired judge, both of whom died in a car accident long ago. This death caused a major rift between Charles and Kelly; it tore them apart. Thinking of getting away from everything and everyone that reminds him of his parents, he left and enlisted in the army. He was right; it did help for a little while until his friend Dexter got killed. A few years after that, Charles got an honorable discharge from the army. He was worse off than he started. Charles was suffering again from a loss. He lost both his parents and the one and only person who understood him and helped him. Dexter was Charles's hero, friend, and lover. Charles went back home feeling lost and depleted. Charles was determined to get his life back on track; he went to counseling and was determined to build himself up and become someone. A few years later, Charles did just that with no help from anyone. The only family he had was Kelly, and they were not speaking. Charles decided that most men in the position he wanted to have a family, so he decided to make one. It didn’t take Charles long to meet Carrie and marry Carrie, and shortly after, they were expecting a baby. Charles reached out to Kelly, trying to make amends. After all, it’s been over ten years since they spoke. Kelly was not happy with how Charles handled their parent’s funeral and the remaining monies from the insurance policy. Thinking she would let gones be by gones, Charles and his pregnant wife met with Kelly, who told them to stay the fuck away from her. She told him if he didn’t, she would personally destroy him if it was the last thing she did.
Later, Carrie and Charles welcomed a baby boy whom Carrie wanted to name Junior. Charles, on the other hand, wanted his son to be nothing like him. So he gave his son his own name, and they came up with Terrail Dexter Baxton. Charles told Carrie that Dexter was his childhood best friend who had been killed a few years prior to the meeting, which was the furthest from the truth. Carrie agreed to name her son after him to honor Charles's best friend. Carrie was well aware her husband had issues and was in consoling and drinking pretty heavily before they met. Carrie chalked it up to him
