An ancient species indigenous to the Galaxy known as the Variants have roamed undetected for centuries preying on humans and their limitless addiction to pleasure. While not parasitic as such, the Variant are beings that feed off the pleasure experienced by humans, especially if the Variant is providing the pleasure.

One such Variant known as Eve, preys on suitable mates on planet Earth, using her ability to read her victims minds she is then able to change into the person her prey desires most, thus giving her the ability to provide maximum pleasure and ingest all the s energy and sustenance the victim’s pleasure provides.

Variants are an ageless species and have needed to adapt to the changing mores of acceptable human interaction. From the ‘one partner for life’ times of the Victorian era to the ‘free love’ Sexual Revolution of the 20th century allowing a change of partner at will being acceptable, the innate skills of the Variant allow her to continue to thrive in the current evolving world.

Chapter One

Regardless of how we appear to others, we are not human nor have we ever been. We are the species known as the Variants and we do not live as you do. We do not sustain ourself with the consumption of food and drink, although we can choose to partake in these things if we wish. Instead, we survive by feeding on the pleasure of others. While all pleasure is beneficial to us, it is greatest when we are the reason for that pleasure - if we are the ones causing it to happen.

Pleasure is everything. It is what brings meaning to life and enriches the human experience but, for us, it is far more than that. Pleasure is the very thing that gives us life; it is our nourishment and the single reason for our being.

I suppose that that is the reason why my species has evolved as it has. If you were to look at me, you would see another ordinary human female but that is not my true form. In fact, it has been many centuries since I existed in my original form and I have long forgotten what I truly looked like.

Over the time that I have been alive, I have taken many different bodies as my own and have lived many different lives: I have been the companion to queens and peasants alike, feeding each time from the pleasure that I brought them. To each of my partners, I have looked very different as my appearance is not decided upon by me. A key part of being a Variant is understanding the way in which our powers of transformation occur.

When a member of my species meets a person, they are capable of reading everything about that person's desires - both those that the person is aware of and those they have yet to discover. If we choose to engage with that person, our appearance will change to match whatever that person wants the most.
