About this ebook

Doctor Sven Lund and Nurse Ingrid seem outwardly to be the perfect couple. But what is the reason why neither of them dare to admit their love for each other? Will they finally become a married couple? This short story was written by one of the authors at the end of the 50s, so you as a reader will have the opportunity to return to an era a few decades ago, which is shown both linguistically and in the environments described. The grandchild has since made sure that the short story can be published in the present tense.

In the summer of 2022, my family cleaned out old things from the summer house and then found stories that my grandmother had written. Neither my mother nor my aunt knew that my grandmother was writing, and I never got the chance to ask her about it as she died before I was born. Based on old letters that we also found, it seems that grandmother wanted to publish these short stories without having been given the opportunity to do so. I have therefore taken the liberty of rewriting these stories and using the exact words my grandmother used. Based on the letters that were found, the stories appear to have been written around 1959 and probably during this time, grandmother was a little too modern in her writing. Grandma uses the pseudonym Aase Olsen. The books she wrote will thus have 2 authors, Aase Olsen and myself. I hope you enjoy the books as much as I do.

    Nurse Ingrid - Aase Olsen

    Chapter 1

One evening when Doctor Gunnar Skog came home from the hospital, he hugged his wife and said: Tomorrow you should come down to the reception and have a look at my new reception nurse. She is the most feminine and charming creature I have seen next to you, of course. In addition, she is a very skilled nurse. How this now can be combined together. That's something rare these days. She has an atmosphere about her that makes work a pleasure and the patients adore her and seem to put up with almost anything as long as she is around. And she takes care of the old and the children, as if she were a mother to them all. Had I not married you, wonderful woman, the Greek gods know how it would have gone.

Doctor Skog finished the sentence by kissing his wife, until she broke free with mild force. Both thought: Oh, to be so happy with each other year after year! Like all happily married people, they also wanted others into the harbor of marriage.

Since I cannot woo Nurse Ingrid myself, I have thought of looking for her within the family, so to speak, anyway. How about marrying her off to your highly charming brother? He should settle down sometime. As far as I can find out, Nurse Ingrid is not engaged and it is not a man who constantly calls her at work. She seems to be completely immersed in her work. Come honey and look at her, are you weird!

Unaware of these plans, Nurse Ingrid went home to her small apartment after a busy day. She was tired but so happy. She had now been employed at the county hospital for a month and she enjoyed herself immensely. She was very comfortable with her boss, senior doctor Skog at the medicine clinic. She couldn't wish for better. Work became so easy with him. She felt what he wanted before he often had time to give orders for it. This collaboration gave great job satisfaction.

She felt happy to hurry home to a nice, warm and bright apartment. Her home. First she was going to a neighbor's house and there the best moment of the day awaited her. It was

when a little man of five left his play and rushed into her arms to hug and kiss her welcome. Then they would walk home amid his cheerful chatter about everything that
