About this ebook

Doctor Dan Nord hires a new nurse with whom he falls in love. But why does Sister Inger repeat the words "I don't believe in marriage" every time Dan proposes. And what does Stig have to do with all this? This short story was written by the author at the end of the 50s, so you as a reader will have the opportunity to return to an era a few decades ago, which is shown both linguistically and in the environments described.

In the summer of 2022, my family cleaned out old things from the summer house and then found stories that my grandmother had written. Neither my mother nor my aunt knew that my grandmother was writing, and I never got the chance to ask her about it as she died before I was born. Based on old letters that we also found, it seems that grandmother wanted to publish these short stories without having been given the opportunity to do so. I have therefore taken the liberty of rewriting these stories and using the exact words my grandmother used. Based on the letters that were found, the stories appear to have been written around 1959 and probably during this time, grandmother was a little too modern in her writing. Grandma uses the pseudonym Aase Olsen. The books she wrote will thus have 2 authors, Aase Olsen and myself. I hope you enjoy the books as much as I do.

I Don't Believe In Marriage - Aase Olsen

    Chapter 1

Doctor Dan Nord tried to find out which of the applicants for the vacant position as reception nurse with him was the most suitable. There were many who applied, and it seemed that it would not be easy to choose. However, a 25-year-old nurse had the best grades and even better she was employed by a fellow student, so Doctor Nord should be given the correct information about her merits and suitability.

Inger Lind is an unusually skilled nurse, talented and energetic. You can never get better. If she takes the position, you are to be congratulated, but just watch your heart, because she is, as they say here among the doctors, nice as sin. But she is absolutely immune to men, so you have no hope of getting out of your bachelorhood through her. Boring? Oh, no, on the contrary, a real sociable person, who likes to have fun, but she kind of keeps everyone away from her somehow. Yes, should you say an impenetrable wall is there at a certain border, I think. Unusual girl in many ways! Sure, it can be exciting, but isn't it a little dangerous for you, who are a bachelor? You value your bachelor life so highly and falling in love can cause problems, everyone should know. Yes, you have been warned! I won't be happy if you manage to get her, because I don't want to lose the best nurse I have had. But there is a constant battle for good nurses, so you just have to bow to that too... was the information Dr. Nord received and it aroused curiosity.

A week later, Inger Lind was shown into his service room to negotiate possible employment. Yes, she was nice as sin, that was no exaggeration. Thin, tall, almost as tall as the stately Doctor Nord, and with a figure so incredibly well-proportioned. The beautiful face was captivating with its clean, classic features. Dark brown, almost black eyes, whose beauty was emphasized even more by long, dark eyelashes. But the most beautiful thing, Dr. Nord thought, was the hair, a dark brown marie ruffle, which dressed her perfectly. Somehow it seemed unjustified to her clean facial features, but oh, the overall impression was so piquant from this hairstyle. Yes, he didn't mind having the sweet revelation as an employee, when she was now also very skilled.

And in front of Inger Lind stood a stately young man, thin, no, sinewy thin and very tall. Happy, sly, deep blue eyes watched her with a discerning eye. A light yellow hairstyle, a mouth, that seemed to be having trouble maintaining the proper doctor's smile right now at least. And if she saw right, she glimpsed a dimple in his chin. The poor fellow certainly had trouble with some of his female patients, that was for sure. He was then among the most manly, handsomest things she had seen! And he looked calm and confident, so of course she would like to be his nurse!

First they were standing in front of each other, as well as appreciating, a little surprising of their discoveries can happen! Doctor Nord gathered his thoughts and
