Melissa - Ella Manhattan
Melissa and Firefly.
Once upon a time, there lived a kind and beautiful girl named Melissa. At night, she turned on her night lamp, which, lightly illuminating the room, helped her fall asleep peacefully. One night, when she was about to fall asleep, the light suddenly went out. The room became dark. Melissa was accustomed to the warm and soothing light emanating from the lamp and plunging her into sweet dreams. So, she was almost falling asleep when the lamp went out. Melissa was a little alarmed, looked at the lamp, and suddenly a firefly appeared from it, a beautiful bright firefly, which instantly illuminated the room and made it even brighter, more beautiful, and more pleasant. Melissa was surprised, but not afraid.
''Hello, Firefly!'' she said.
''Hello, Melissa!'' the Firefly answered and jumped out of the light bulb onto the wall.
He wanted to play with her. He began jumping on the wall here and there, glowing like garlands on a Christmas tree and was playful and cheerful.
''I am a good firefly. Don’t be afraid of me," he said.
To which Melisa replied that she was not afraid, because he lived in her lamp, and was probably already familiar with her.
Yes, I’ve been living in your lamp for a long time and I know you well,
answered Firefly. ''I know that you are a kind and tidy girl, and a good student. I also know all your pajamas. They are very beautiful.''
Melissa was glad that he talked to her like a friend. Then he, after jumping on the wall a little more, moved to the window and said, Come with me, I’ll show you something.
With these words, he jumped out of the window. Melissa became very interested and climbed through the window and followed the Firefly in her pajamas.
He jumped along the road here and there, showing her the way with his light. Melissa followed him. Soon they found themselves in a small forest, among trees and bushes. The Firefly jumped on the bushes and blades of grass, showing the way. Melissa trusted him and followed him. Suddenly the forest ended and a grove appeared, in the middle of which there was a large castle. The castle was not very large, but tall, and it shone in the night as if thousands of fireflies were illuminating it.
This is where I live, or rather I lived until I settled in your lamp,
said the Firefly.
''Oh, how beautiful!'' Melissa exclaimed.
Approaching closer, the castle door swung open, and they found themselves in a spacious hall.
Why are we here? What are we going to do here?
asked Melissa.
You’ll see,
answered the Firefly and, extinguishing its light, disappeared.
Melissa was left alone. There were several doors in the hall. She entered one of them and found herself in a hall of mirrors. Immediately the doors slammed shut, and it became unclear where they were because there were only mirrors all around. Melissa looked in the mirrors and saw herself differently in each one. In one mirror she was fat, in another, she was skinny and long, in the third she was wearing a crown on her head, in the fourth she was holding a kitten in her arms. They were magic mirrors Find yourself!
, came a voice out of nowhere. This will be the door through which you can leave here.
Melissa began to carefully peer into her reflection. She knew herself well, as she often loved to look in the mirror. She also knew her pajamas, and she certainly knew that she did not have a crown on her head or a cat in her hand. In one of the mirrors, she saw a girl very similar to herself. She came closer and touched the mirror, hoping that it was a door and it would open, but that was not the case. It was just a mirror, not a door. Melissa looked carefully to see what was wrong. Having taken a good look at herself in the reflection, she saw a small mole on her cheek, which she did not have. Hmm... Not bad either,
she thought, looking at herself with the mole. She continued her search and again saw a girl very similar to herself. She went up to the mirror, trying to open it like a door, but in vain. So... What’s wrong here?
, looking carefully, Melissa asked herself. The earrings turned out to be different. One was like hers, and the other was slightly different. How attentive you have to be to see all these details and little things. But Melissa was just such a girl. And finally, it seemed to her that she had found herself. Here, it’s me!
, she exclaimed and pushed the mirror. Yes, it turned out to be a door. The mirror door opened, and she came out, immediately ending up not in the hall, which she entered, but in another room.
It was the crystal hall. Many crystal chandeliers were hanging on the ceiling, the floor was crystal, and the walls were also crystal. It was all sparkling and glittering. Then, suddenly, a crystal pendant in the form of an earring fell to the floor next to Melissa, followed by another. They were very beautiful, and Melissa wanted to try them on. She took off her earrings, put them in her pocket, and put on these new crystal earrings. Having stuck them into her ears, she noticed how she immediately became very small, the size of a kitten, and even shorter than the table that stood in the middle of the hall. In fear, she jumped out of the crystal hall before something else happened to her, and, seeing the stairs, ran up it.
Climbing to the next floor, she found herself in another room, reminiscent of a large chessboard. The floor was black and white, like a chessboard, and there were chess pieces on it. Melissa
