About this ebook
Happy Ending: Some Assembly Required.
Julian always knew he wasn’t meant to be an omega. From his first heat, he raged with the desire to claim instead of be claimed. Running away from his family and pack, he found a home with the Perez pack, but his wolf wouldn’t settle until he’d found his mate and fixed what fate screwed up.
Eli never expected love. A middle-aged beta of a dead pack — that he may very well have killed — he’s got blood on his hands and the weight of a world of secrets on his shoulders. If he can spend his life protecting others, that would be enough.
But ‘enough’ wasn’t good enough for Julian. He’s got his eye on the charming ex-hitman, and running or not, Julian intends to give them both their happily ever after.

A ~14K short with a magical ABO gender-bender twist.
I’m a beta,
Julian insisted from the moment he could speak.
His parents shushed him, reminding him that they’d taken him in for scans when he was younger, and that he had a womb, which meant he was either an omega or an alpha.
With any luck, you’ll be an omega,
his mother always said.
His father would nod along. You would be a beautiful omega! Any alpha would be proud to be your mate.
But Julian did not want an alpha. As he grew older, his teeth ached to sink into the back of another’s neck, and despite how lean he was compared to the other boys, he always stood taller than them. Always managed to pin them.
Yet when he thought about being an alpha — about pinning his mate down and locking with them — that didn’t feel right either. All around him, the world grew more mortal every day. Magic users slipped away to Faerie or other realms, blending into the mundane as werewolf dynamics narrowed to betas more and more with each passing year. Anyone with any logic could see that alphas and omegas would be gone in a century or two even with the conservation efforts most packs put into things. Betas — like mortals — had won. Even if they had less children, they did so more easily and with less formality than the matings which alphas and omegas often required. Perhaps if warlocks hadn’t stepped in and ensured omegas weren’t subjugated, alphas might’ve managed to abuse their strength, but the knotheads who might’ve done that got themselves killed off by hunters, so it wasn’t like the Council of Magic was alone in putting their foot down.
Just look at the García pack. Julian had just had his first heat — hating every minute of it as his parents provided toys, but none of them did a damn thing. Omegas supposedly wanted penetration, but Julian ached to fuck, feeling absolutely miserable as he stripped his cock again and again. Locked up in his room, he went on the internet, distracting himself with research and articles in hidden lycan forums when he found pictures. The entire García pack had been massacred. In a single day, a pack entirely made up of alphas — strong ones in their prime — was eradicated.
Rumors claimed the culprit was the lone survivor — Eli García. Left hand of the pack, he was the spy, assassin, fixer, and more all rolled into one, but he was young. Exact age unknown but likely late twenties. Young enough, people said,
