Political Poetry in Times of Fake News - Arnaldo Lóbii
Truth’s Resilience
In the realm of politics and deceit,
Where fake news and lies compete,
A poet’s pen shall rise in might,
To champion truth’s unwavering light.
In times where facts are cast askew,
And propaganda’s venom brews,
Our verses stand as swords of reason,
Amidst the chaos, a beacon in the season.
Beware the whispers in the air,
Distorting truth with subtle flair,
Yet with poetic eloquence, we unveil,
The webs of falsehood, we set sail.
With ink, we wield our fervent might,
To wage a war for what is right,
Against the currents of deception,
Our words forge truth’s resurrection.
Let stanzas weave a potent shield,
For truth and justice, we shall wield,
In unity, we raise our voice,
To counter lies and make a choice.
Our rhyme and rhythm strike the core,
Of hearts deceived by lies of yore,
Awakening minds, fostering debate,
In a world where truth may abate.
Amidst the noise, let poets dare,
To speak the truth, our souls laid bare,
For in this dance of lies and ruse,
Our verse shall be a steadfast muse.
With political poetry as our guide,
Through murky waters, we’ll abide,
For truth’s resilience will not tire,
In times of fake news’ raging fire.
So let us write, with pens ablaze,
A symphony of truth that stays,
In times of falsehood’s grand design,
Our poetry’s truth shall brightly shine.
In the hands of one, the fate of millions lies,
A leader’s power, a world in disguise.
Beware the allure of authority’s call,
For even the noblest may let darkness befall.
Democracy and Freedom, precious and rare,
Worth more than gold, beyond compare.
Yet politicians jest and deceive,
As the web of corruption they deftly weave.
Passive and active, the corrupter’s sway,
The most vulnerable made to pay.
Though leaders may seem faultless, fair,
We must remain vigilant, for dangers are there.
Rights and duties, the pillars of society’s stance,
In the face of power, we must take a stand.
Human beings, not to be cast away,
Breaking free from stereotypes that lead us astray.
For in this great dilemma of life and politics,
We seek the truth, and not mere gimmicks.
To cherish each soul, no matter their lot,
United we stand, a vigilant knot.
So let us rise and break the chains,
Embracing compassion, where humanity reigns.
In unity, we’ll safeguard our shared home,
For love and vigilance, we must never roam.
Together we’ll build a world that’s just and fair,
Where every life is cherished with care.
In the hands of many, our future’s bright,
A tapestry of hope, woven with might.
In the early morn, I sought water’s embrace,
A simple act, a moment’s grace.
Yet, to my surprise, on the fridge’s door,
Politicians’ faces, spreading Fake News
galore.
Their grinning visages, a troubling sight,
A world of misinformation, distorting the light.
In indignation, I vowed to call the law,
But they marked me with a sticker, leaving me in awe.
Fake News
etched upon my brow,
Silenced, restrained, not knowing how.
Fearful, I retreated back to bed,
With thoughts of politics, I seldom tread.
But as slumber’s veil
