    Do you remember the times before the great turnaround?

    You may be too young to recall the way things once were; perhaps your only knowledge of the hell we lived are the tales you’ve heard from your grandparents, or read in the history books. But the history books have left out something very important, something of which I was a part. Something I will tell you about now.

    They say confession is good for the soul, and that is what my story is about. Confession. But not only is it about confession, it is also a confession, in itself.

    I, an old man near the end of his days, have been the caretaker of a terrible secret, perhaps the greatest secret ever kept by a man, and I can bear it no longer. You must understand that to expose my secret before now would have meant certain death for me and my loved ones. I do not know what outcome will follow the uncovering of this secret, but for me, this unknown is still preferable to the lie - even if that lie saved the human race from destroying itself.
