INTRODUCTORY
Advancements have been progressing every hour, with Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) the most used technology in scientific scenarios, many discoveries have been made in the last year alone. We will be going over some of the newly discovered materials, their use cases, and their compound structures, as well as several other data areas.
Material Structure
An arrangement of atoms, molecules, or ions in a regular pattern. Different compounds have different types of material structures, which affect their physical and chemical properties. For example, some compounds have a molecular structure, where atoms are bonded together in discrete units called molecules. Other compounds have a crystalline structure, where atoms, molecules, or ions are arranged in a repeating three-dimensional lattice. Some examples of molecular compounds are water, carbon dioxide, and methane. Some examples of crystalline compounds are amethyst, diamond, and quartz.
Material Anatomy
The anatomy of materials in chemistry refers to the structure and composition of materials, which determines their properties and behavior. Materials can be classified into different types based on their structure, such as amorphous, crystalline, or polymer. Amorphous materials have no regular arrangement of atoms, while crystalline materials have a periodic pattern of atoms. Polymer materials are made of long chains of repeating units called monomers.
