Chapter 1 - Happy Days
In the 1990s, prior to the tragic event, Bella's family was idyllic. She and her older sister Karen were the center of their parent's love and care, and they were fortunate to have been raised by exceptional caregivers.
Their modest home, situated in what Bella fondly recalls as a desirable neighborhood, was a source of contentment. Every morning, she awakened to a cheerful household adorned with pristine white walls and inviting bed linens.
Ken, the father of Bella, provided for their family as a mechanic in Edmonton, Alberta. He had a weight of approximately 230 pounds and stood at a height of five feet, six inches. His thick black hair on his head was complemented by the equally thick eyebrows on his face.
Whenever he spotted Bella, he would playfully wink at her and affectionately refer to her as little cat.
Bella's mother, Lisa, was a woman of average physical appearance and came from a middle-class family. She had thick black hair that she always styled, and her brown eyes complemented her glistening skin, which exuded love for her children.
It was evident that she prioritized the needs of her family. As a devout Catholic, Lisa makes sure to take her children to church school every Tuesday to nourish their faith.
When Bella was in kindergarten, Ken was unable to attend her Father's Day event at St. Bonaventure Elementary School, so her mother went in his place. They even made a fabric frog stuffed with rice as a special gift. The presence of her mother at the event brought great excitement to her.
At the age of 10, Bella would often watch television with her mother. During one instance, she vividly recalled a program that left a lasting impression on her. This TV show featured individuals sharing their experiences of childhood abuse and how they coped with it.
As Bella watched, she saw her mother becoming visibly angry and upset. Tears streamed down her mother's face as she expressed sympathy for the victims and spoke out against the perpetrators, proclaiming that they should be punished for their actions.
When it comes to keeping a clean and organized household, Bella's family was top-notch. She has fond memories of her mother, who had a reputation for being a clean freak.
Their mother took pride in keeping their home spotless and clutter-free.
Beyond just cleanliness, Lisa's skills as a homemaker extended to the kitchen. Throughout the years, she prepared some of the most delicious and impressive meals for Bella and her sister. From comforting home-cooked classics to intricate dishes, their mother's cooking never failed to amaze.
Lisa took charge of ensuring their room was consistently clean and organized. Bella fondly recalls her childhood and how her mother had a special affection for plants, leading her to cultivate a charming flower garden by the house. It appears everything her mother interacted with bloomed into perfection.
It was a regular occurrence for Ken, to take the children to the swimming pool frequently. Swimming was their favorite activity, and they enjoyed it immensely.
The children would go to various events, such as the circus often taken by their mother. Lisa would shower the children with gifts and spend quality time with them. Spanish music could often be heard filling their homes.
In the past, their households were teeming with beloved pets, including cats and dogs, and decorated with vibrant aquariums filled with fish.
In prosperous times, Halloween marked the start of the festive season for them. The tradition included dressing up in costumes and setting off on a quest for pumpkins during trick-or-treating.
Following Bella's mother's tradition, she eagerly awaited the arrival of Christmas each year. The holiday season
