The King Kids and the Missing Pilot - Sheree Elaine
Introduction
image-placeholderMy name is John. John King. I’m the oldest kid in our family, which is great. It means I get to be the first to do all the things- lose teeth, go to school, music lessons, etc. I'm going to be a scientist when I grow up, or maybe an engineer or a chemist. I love math and science and would do experiments all day long if I could.
Tyson and Afton, the twins, are almost seven. Tyson is the jokester, prankster, and aspiring ninja. Afton wants to be a botanist and knows more about plants and flowers than most adults. Baby Alyvia is one, and she is loud, is always making a mess, and is completely adorable.
Mom and Dad are photographers. Mom photographs families and community events while Dad focuses mostly on nature. He’s also an Engineer, but he says that’s just to pay the bills.
I would say we are your typical family: loud, fun, busy, and sometimes a little crazy. We may not be royalty, like our name suggests, but to us family is most important. That’s why Tyson, Afton, Alyvia and I will forever cherish and claim the title of The King Kids.
Chapter 1
J ohn. Hello! John,
I flinch and look up from my book to see my teacher’s hand waving in front of me. I look around and see that everyone’s chairs are empty. I look behind me and see the class lined up at the door.
Oh, Sorry,
I say and jump up to get in line. I can feel my cheeks getting warm. I’m only a little embarrassed. It’s not the first time I’ve tuned out the rest of the world during silent
