About this ebook
Djinn's Enchantment is a trilogy of stories about three brothers who are cursed to reside in lamps as djinns and grant wishes to whoever rubs until fate brings them their one true mate.
------
Bade, the middle Bomani brother, has lived a life of servitude. Even when he was a great warrior, he still had orders to follow. Now he was a powerful Djinn, and his life still didn't belong to him. Wish after wish. Master after master. His life was destined to never be his.
Destiny Lorde had spent her entire life in the same small town. Bullied as a kid, she'd been a loner. Now, as an adult, she didn't see her life changing anytime soon. She spent her life much as she had since high school, stuck in the past as much as the items in the antique and second-hand shop her family owned – Dorothy was friendless and boyfriendless. Never in her wildest dreams did she think her biggest high school bully would bring her the answer to her own destiny – a destiny where she triggered a curse and awakened a djinn.
Will Bade's new master find a way to set him free? Or will Destiny be like the other masters, leaving him to vanish inside the lamp?
S.E. Isaac
Coming from a family of military members, S.E. Isaac learned at an early age what it meant to travel. She spent six years of her childhood in Germany and the remainder in Missouri, USA. She became a young mother at the age of sixteen and learned what determination, motivation, and inspiration could do for one’s life. She has experienced just about everything life can throw at a person, from serving in the military, seeing the effects of war, divorces, childbirth, financial struggles, being a single parent, and raising a special needs child alone. Life hasn’t always granted her the happiness, which she desired, but she never quit treading water. You have to fight for what you want in life. Writing has always been an outlet for her, even at the young age of eight, which is when she started writing poetry and short stories. It has always been a dream to have her work published and to have readers connect with her characters. She believes that is every writer’s dream — to have their work truly read. Connect with S.E. Djinn’s Enchantment
The story of how it began.
Lamp-iconIt was a day like any other…
When the Bomani brothers walked off of another victorious battlefield. Azber, the oldest, carried a shield he had stolen from one of their enemies. It gleamed in the bright light of the midday sun. Bade the middle brother, hefted the armor from the fallen captain of the enemy’s army. It too shone with the wealth of the previous owner. Bringing up the rear was the youngest, Kairo, who spoke softly to a gorgeous stallion he planned to add to his stables.
All in all, it had been a highly successful day and they would be able to once again announce to their king another victory.
The spoils of war are ours as always, my brothers,
Azber chuckled.
Our king wishes for victory, and in return, we are showered with glory!
Bade roared with laughter. Azber and Kairo grinned.
The Bomani brothers were known throughout the lands as being the most handsome and ruthless men alive. There was no battle they had not won. No woman they had not conquered. And no modesty within their bones.
The gods and goddesses have graced us with another victory, Commander,
Miksa said, walking beside Azber. The three brothers laughed.
The gods and goddesses have given us nothing,
Bade laughed. "It is us, who have given the gods and goddesses such entertainment!"
Miksa and several soldiers moving around the brothers paled at Bade’s comments towards their deities. Countless numbers of successful battles had made the Bomani brothers invincible in their minds. The soldiers worried that their leaders– the three brothers– would one day lead their army to their demise. The soldiers prayed twice as much with each victory and each ill word from the brothers’ mouths, in hopes the deities would hear the soldiers’ prayers and spare the soldiers’ lives.
You grant your king’s wishes?
a soft woman’s voice mused. The brothers and the soldiers looked around for the woman. Her voice seemed to come out of thin air.
Who are you?
Kairo asked, looking around.
Better yet, where are you?
Azber demanded. A battlefield is no place for a woman.
The men all laughed.
Silly mortals,
the woman sighed. When will you learn how to behave towards the gods?
Gods?
All the men questioned in unison.
A woman now stood in the middle of the soldiers and brothers. Her skin was golden. Her hair was straight and black as night. Her brown eyes were no mere brown. They seemed to shimmer with each touch of the sun’s beams. She wore a long white sheath that came down to her ankles. The sheath was decorated in gold thread and colorful beads. And a gold headdress set upon her head.
Goddess Hathor!
A soldier shouted before dropping to his knees. The other soldiers followed suit. The three brothers remained standing.
All mighty Goddess Hathor!
The soldiers cheered and then lowered their heads out of respect for their goddess of the sky, women, fertility, and love.
You are quite beautiful, Hathor,
Azber smiled at the goddess.
And you are quite arrogant, Azber,
she rolled her eyes. Even now, you do not pay your respects to me?
Is a compliment not enough?
he teased, making his brothers laugh.
Her cheeks did not even pinken, brother. You must be losing your charm,
Bade winked at Azber.
Have I lost my charm with the ladies, Hathor?
Azber took a step towards the goddess.
Brother,
Kairo warned. It was one thing to talk about the gods and goddesses behind their backs. It was another thing to be disrespectful to their faces.
Best to heed your brother’s warning, Azber,
Hathor agreed. The other gods wanted to end your lives a long time ago. I came to your defense. Bought you some time to change your ways. You have changed nothing for the better. You are only more–
Handsome,
Bade grinned. Hathor huffed and shook her head.
Foolish,
she replied flatly. Soldiers, leave us and make your way back to your families. Your fighting ends today.
Hathor!
The soldiers chanted then rose to their feet and walked off cheering. After countless battles, deaths, and days lost the soldiers were finally free to return home.
The three of you are mere mortals, yet, you challenge your gods,
Hathor waved her finger at each of the brothers. Granting your king’s wishes of victory?
she snorted.
We are like Djinn,
Azber declared. Our king wishes for victory and we command it.
You give yourselves too much credit for these victories. You hold your heads way too high. Never should a man’s head be above the heavens. Never should he spit at the feet of the gods. The gods have been kind and spared your lives until now,
she declared. The wind began to howl around them.
The brothers looked at each other, in confusion. The wind whipped faster, throwing sand in their faces. Kairo’s grip on the horse’s reins slipped and the horse ran off. Bade dropped the armor he held. The shield
