I’ve collected comic books all my life; it’s the big passion that consumed me right from when I was kid. And know what? It’s still consuming me to this day. I love those funny stories and cartoons so much that I finally opened my own comic and book store and that’s how I met my wife too; she came into my book shop and was looking for something for her nephew for his birthday and wanted something that would make him think she was the best aunt in the world.

Well if you want something extra special, then you really can’t go wrong with this one. It’s about an ordinary guy who gets robbed and seeks revenge, making him turn into a vigilante at night.

She thanked me for my help and I even gave her a good price on buying two and getting one free. Before she left, she turned around and walked back to the counter and put down her calling card with her phone number on it, told me she collected 1950’s women’s mags and for me to call her if any second hand ones came in. I suppose I should’ve called her but I forgot about it, no time to go looking through my entire stock to find anything for her as I got too busy with a new shipment of comic books and never got around to it. I guess she was thinking about her collection, and one day she came back in and asked if I’d found anything suitable.

Well, to cut a long story short, one thing led to another and we started dating and within twelve months we were living together and married the year after that.

I still had my comic book store and Diana, my wife, couldn’t believe that I made so much money from comic books. She was a lawyer and my income even rivaled hers. She never tried to stop me or change me from my profession and even referred my store to some of her friends and their kids. I was happy for the referrals but I really didn’t need any more customers. I already had a big gang of regulars who were almost addicts of comics, especially old collector’s versions. On top of that, I had a steady stream of browsers call in for this or that; I did well, and no complaints.
