Note to the Reader
During my time as owner of a Catholic Bookstore, I discovered 37 Emperors, Empress, Kings, Queens and Royalties have become canonized saints. I also discovered that all royalties who became saints had common traits and characteristic; they were very faithful, very devoted to our Lord Jesus Christ, very dedicated in attending Mass, and very disciplined in their prayer lives. However, the most impressive trait is that they all loved God immensely and were willing to sacrifice their lives for our Lord.
In 2018 when I was 74 years old, I began researching these holy royalties and compiling these books during my retirement. I selected royalties who were extraordinary rulers. I have received most of my inspiration in front of the Blessed Sacrament during my daily hour in the adoration chapel. I also discovered that these pious and holy royalties who lived their lives as saints on earth, God usually rewarded them and their subjects with peace and prosperity. "We pray and hope that this book will enlighten, inspire, and motivate all people especially those in leadership positions.
To my Children: Carmen, Jo-Ann, Joey, Chris, and Nathalie:
In the year 2001, I delved deeply into the lives of Catholic Saints, finding inspiration in the stories of Emperors, Empresses, Kings, Queens, Royalties, and Heads of countries who ascended to sainthood. During my research, I uncovered the remarkable journey of 30 Royalties who attained the status of saints. The very first King to be canonized as a saint was Oswald of Northumbria in England. He met martyrdom, and we honor his memory o August 5, 642.
I discerned that these saintly Royalties shared several common traits and characteristics: unwavering faith, wholehearted devotion to our Lord, a steadfast commitment to attending Mass, and disciplined prayer lives. Most impressively, they harbored profound love for God and were ready to lay down their lives in His service.
These rulers tirelessly sought God's glory while governing their subjects with justice and fairness. Their humility, approachability, and boundless charity were truly remarkable. They dedicated a substantial portion of their time to prayer and spreading the teachings of the faith. As a result of their devout lives, these pious and holy Royalties often experienced periods of peace and prosperity, which were blessings bestowed by God.
I am confident that, after you take the time to read about some of these holy Royalties, you will come to the realization that our modern world is in need of a Holy and Pious Ruler who is dedicated to following God's will.
The Lady of All Nations
Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now Your Spirit over the earth. Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of all nations, that they may be preserved from degeneration, disaster and war. May the Lady of All Nations, the Blessed Virgin Mary, be our Advocate. Amen
Imprimatur: 06.01.2009 Haarlem - Amsterdam
Lord God, grant those in Government and Authority, health, peace, concord, and stability, so that they may exercise without offence the sovereignty that you have given them. Master, heavenly King of all ages, you give glory, honor, and power over the things of earth the sons of men. Direct Lord, their counsel, following what is pleasing and acceptable in your sight, so that by exercising with devotion and in peace and gentleness the power that You have given them, they may favor with You.
Pope Saint Clement I of Rome AD88 – AD97
First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotions and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God our Savior, who wills everyone to be saved and come to knowledge of the truth.
Paul to Timothy 1,22:1-4
Introduction
The history of these revered rulers has left a profound impact on me, deeply impressing upon my heart, and most importantly, igniting my pursuit of faith. I wholeheartedly pray and hope that my book will have a similar effect on its readers.
When I delved into the stories of these Kings, Queens, and Royalties and how they attained sainthood, I yearned to delve deeper into their lives. It's a rarity for those in positions of power to exhibit kindness, humility, and compassion. However, these holy royalties were exceptional not only in their kindness, humility, and compassion but also in their unwavering dedication to prayer, faithfulness, and profound love for God. Their genuine concern for the well-being of their people sets them apart.
This book delves into the lives of these royalties: who they were, how they served both their people and God, and the sacrifices and penance they willingly endured. It offers insight into their remarkable journey toward sainthood.
Special Feature:
Queen Isabella I of Spain – Creator of Human Rights in America
I have devoted a significant portion of my writing to Queen Isabella I when compared to other royalties. To me, she stands next to Holy Mother Mary as one of the most remarkable women in history, and it's quite possible that she's already a saint in the eyes of many, though the Vatican has yet to make it official. This concise biography sheds new light on the life of a ruler who is not only deeply loved but also exceptionally loving. I believe it will leave a lasting impression on the minds and hearts of its readers.

The existence of this book owes much to Saint Anne Catholic Church in Gilbert, Arizona. I want to express my deepest gratitude, above all, to our Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament and the Masses celebrated at St. Anne. Most of my inspiration has come to me in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament during my daily hour in the Adoration Chapel. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to the clergy, parish ministers, and parishioners of St. Anne Catholic Church in Gilbert, AZ for their unwavering encouragement and support for my book.
This book is a compilation of various texts about the saints. I want to acknowledge the contributions of Father Alban Butler's Lives of the Saints
for every day of the year, as well as Saints of the Roman Calendar
by Enzo Lodi (St. Paul Publishers). Both of these books have been officially approved by the Catholic Church and carry the Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the following sources that have enriched this work:
Saint Pope John Paul II, The International Symposium on the Spanish Inquisition
His Eminence Luis Cardinal Aponte Martinez, for his insights into Isabella The Catholic
Sister Joan Gormley, a professor of Scripture and Homiletics at Miles Jesu, Avila, Spain, who provided valuable perspectives on The Greatest Woman Who Ever Lived, After the Blessed Mother
Carolyn Salomons, for her contributions to Representations of Tomas de Torquemada
Thomas F. Madden, whose work The Truth About the Spanish Inquisition
shed light on the topic
QueenIsabel.org & Magazine
I also recommend reading the following sources for a more comprehensive understanding:
BBC 1994 documentary Myth of the Inquisition
Works by Karl Keating and William T. Walsh
Insights from Miles Jesu, Avila, through Rev. Father Alphonsus Maria Duran and Jewish Professor Henry Kamen
While there are numerous books about the lives of saints, there are very few, if any, that focus on Holy Kings, Holy Queens, and Holy Royalties within a single volume. My goal in creating this book is to inform my readers about the existence of Royalties who lived their lives as saints on Earth. Often, God rewarded them and their subjects with a life of peace and prosperity.
Declaration
The decree from the Congregation for the Propagation of the Faith, A.A.S. 58, 1186 (approved by Pope Paul VI on October 14, 1966), specifies that the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur are no longer necessary for publications that discuss private revelations, as long as they do not contain anything contrary to faith and morals.
The publisher wants to affirm their complete and unwavering submission to the ultimate and authoritative judgment of the Church's Magisterium.
