The Final Battle; A Fable for all Ages - Michelle D Seeden
Preface
I wrote the core of this book in about two hours. I thought this story was hilariously fascinating and I had never written anything like it before. It was definitely God-inspired, and I loved it! I finished reading it and really thought it would be a play and not a book. It became a book after YEPAW founder, Dr. Leslie Parker Barnes, read it. She is an anointed woman of God, a mentor, and a friend. I was confident that the drama was there, but I needed a second opinion to know if the visual was clear.
Dr. Barnes said, Michelle, you have a book; only when I read a book, I want the writer to tell me the story. I don’t want to have to draw the pictures and figure out what was not said.
I got it! I couldn’t wait to get off the phone and start writing the back story and filling in the blanks. I knew it was finished when I could see every picture and hear every voice. The finished product is what Dr. Barnes challenged me to do. I plan to produce the play inspired by the book at a later date. Stay tuned!
Introduction
With this gift to write in a language that children understand, I asked myself, can I sit still while our young people are confused by society day after day? They are foolishly asked to question sexual orientation and make gender choices defined by natural life reactions. For these choices, children are bullied, cast out, and offended. The gift of writing affords me the freedom to overtly share while protecting and defending the innocent with the principles of God’s Word. I owe them support and the opportunity to share my struggles so that they do not feel isolated or different. Theirs are not exclusive feelings. I would be remiss if I looked the other way and never gave them the power to fight. We know there is a war for their lives, to challenge and defeat their God-purpose, and to shatter their dreams.
Choice
is intimated in commercials, every popular TV show, and even some modern literary works. Children are questioning am I too light, too dark, too God knows what! Skinny, fat? Fortunately, I was taught to accept what I was born to be and not to challenge it. I had good signals from my parents and the people who molded my life, so I stayed focused. I was a skinny, insecure, yellow-skinned black girl. I never chased shirts, but I was a tomboy. I jumped out of trees, fought boys, and played every male-oriented sport that I was allowed to
