I. INTRODUCTION
In recent years, climate change has become one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. This phenomenon is caused by the emission of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, which trap heat in the atmosphere and cause an increase in global temperature. This situation has led to a series of negative consequences for our planet, including the melting of glaciers, rising sea levels, desertification and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events. There is still time to take action to protect our planet and ensure a sustainable future. This essay will explore the challenges and solutions humanity faces in relation to climate change, as well as the actions we can take to mitigate its effects and ensure a livable future for generations to come.
DEFINITION OF CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change is a term that refers to significant changes in the global climate over a long period of time. The Earth's climate has always been constantly evolving due to changes in solar activity and natural cycles of cooling and warming. The climate change we are experiencing today is different. Instead of changing gradually, it is occurring at an alarming rate. Scientists have discovered that human activity, particularly the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation, is emitting large amounts of greenhouse gases that are trapping heat in the atmosphere, causing global temperatures to rise rapidly. This has resulted in ocean acidification, rising sea levels, melting glaciers and an increase in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as hurricanes, droughts and heat waves. As climate change has become more evident, various measures have been taken to mitigate the damage. A large number of countries have committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In 2015, 196 countries signed the Paris Agreement, which sets specific targets at the national level to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in order to limit global temperature rise to 2°C above pre-industrial levels. Many governments, organizations and civil society groups are working to promote renewable energy, improve energy efficiency, encourage reforestation and sustainable land use, and reduce the production of consumer products that contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, civil society and citizens also play an important role in the fight against climate change. By making changes in our daily lifestyles, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint. This could include things as simple as turning off lights and electronics when they are not in use, reducing car consumption, using public transportation or bicycles instead of cars, and buying products from ethical and sustainable companies. In addition to these measures, there is an urgent need to develop innovative technologies and public policies that will enable us to achieve more ambitious climate targets. These policies could include the introduction of carbon tax schemes and the establishment of energy efficiency standards for buildings and vehicles.
The threat of climate change is urgent and action needs to be taken now to combat it. If we make significant changes and work together as a global society, we can protect our planet for future generations.
IMPORTANCE OF THE SUBJECT TODAY
The importance of the issue of climate change today cannot be underestimated, as it is one of the biggest problems facing humanity. The effects of climate change, such as rising global temperatures, ocean acidification, loss of biodiversity and rising sea levels, are already having an impact on our lives and the environment. The reality is that we are seeing drastic changes in our natural environment, affecting the quality of life of many people and the flora and fauna of our planet. The increase in greenhouse gas emissions, caused primarily by human activity, has become a threat that we cannot ignore. It is crucial that we take action to protect our planet for future generations. There are many actions that can be taken to address climate change, including reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the use of renewable energy, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and protecting critical natural areas. These solutions may seem small, but together they can make a big difference in protecting the environment and ensuring a sustainable future for our planet. It is important that we take action now, as each day that passes without action, the impacts of climate change become more severe and more difficult to reverse. It is our duty as human beings to ensure that the planet is habitable for generations to come and that we can enjoy the natural resources we depend on to survive.
PURPOSE OF THE ESSAY
The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current situation of climate change and its impact on humanity. In this regard, the threat posed by climate change has been extensively investigated and some of the responses to this problem at the international level have been examined. It is evident that, for several decades, the scientific community has been clear about the negative consequences of climate change, but despite this, there are still many who ignore this reality or are indifferent to it. Faced with this situation, it is necessary to adopt a proactive attitude and take concrete actions that will allow us to protect our planet for future generations. In this regard, one of the first measures to be taken is to make the population aware of the effects of climate change and the need to adopt responsible and sustainable consumption habits. It is also essential to implement public policies that promote the adoption of clean technologies and the use of renewable energies. It is important to note that some countries have made significant progress in this regard, but there is still much to be done. Climate change is a threat that affects us all, and only with the cooperation and joint efforts of governments, businesses and citizens will we be able to protect our planet and ensure a sustainable future. As climate change has deepened, we have seen an increase in the destructive forces of nature, such as storms, fires and hurricanes. While some steps have already been taken to prevent damage to the environment, there is still much to be done to protect the planet for future generations. One of the best ways to address climate change is through the use of clean and renewable technologies. The energy industry is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, and it is crucial that we adopt cleaner sources of energy, such as solar and wind power. We need to adopt more sustainable agricultural practices and reduce our dependence on toxic chemicals. It is also important to address climate change at the political level by signing and enforcing international treaties that limit greenhouse gas emissions. We must educate ourselves about the dangers of climate change and work together to find solutions that
